71st College Day

71st College Day was celebrated on 21.04.2022. Dr. Vaidehi Vijayakumar, Vice-
Chancellor, Mother Teresa University, Kodaikanal, delivered the College Day Address
and distributed the prizes to the students. The Principal Dr. M. Vasuki, presented the Annual
report and highlighted the accomplishments of the institution for the year 2021-2022.

46th Graduation Day

Shri.A. Kaliyamurthy, Former Superintendent of Police, Tiruchirapalli District,


Tamilnadu, presided over the 46th Graduation Day of the college on 25.04.2022 nearly
1340 students received their degrees.
Founder’s Birthday Celebrations

Founder Padmabhushan Sri. N Ramaswami Ayyar’s 125th birthday celebration was held
on 30.10.2021. Dr. A. Dhanalakshmi, Former Professor and Head, PG and Research
Department of Physics, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, presided over the
celebrations. The students of the educational complex paid tributes to the founder. Founder’s
day scholarship and prizes were distributed on the day.

Students’ Union Inauguration and Investiture ceremony

Inauguration of the College Students’ Union and its Affiliated Associations was held on
27.09.2021. Dr. R. Karvembu, Professor, Department of Chemistry, National Institute of
Technology, Tiruchirappalli, inaugurated the activities of the College Students’ Union and its
Affiliated Associations. Release of SRC Quest – A Compendium of Research Articles was
released by the Chief Guest. The Principal administered the oath to the newly elected office
bearers of the college students’ union.

Cultural Festival Cum Fresher’s Day


Cultural festival cum Fresher’s Day Harsha 2k21, was organised on 23.12.2021 and
24.12.2021. Various competitions like Bhagavath Gita Recitation, Elocution in Hindi, Bible
Recitation, Classical Dance, Classical Music, Elocution in Sanskrit, Extempore in Tamil,
Extempore in English, Mehandi, Nail Art, Quran recitation, Tirukkural Recitation and Miss
SRC were conducted. These competitions were conducted to bring out the latent talents of the
students.

75th Independence day was celebrated on 15.08.2021. Ms. R. Bhakkiyadharshini, II


[Link]. Chemistry, Chairperson, College Students’ Union, hoisted the national flag and
delivered the Independence Day Address.

73rd Republic Day was celebrated on 26.01.2022. Ms. J. Amirtha Nila School Pupil
Leader Savitri Vidyasala Hindu Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruchirapalli, hoisted the
national flag and delivered the Republic day message.
Alumnae Meet

Alumna meet was organised on 4.12.2021. Ms. A. Sivapriya, District Revenue officer,
Dr. R. Padmavathi, Former Principal, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Ms. Malarvizhi,
Former Head Mistress, Savithri Vidhyasala Hindu Girls Higher Secondary School,

Artiste, AIR, Chennai, Ms. M. Senthil Arasi, Deputy Registrar, Bharathidasan University,
Ms. N. Ambika, Vice President and Head Learning Services, HCL, Ms. Srilakshmi
Krishnamoorthi, Assistant Professor, Grade I Mathematics, IISER, Trivandram and Ms. M.
Dhanalakshmi (Athlete) Sports Officer, TNEB, Tiruchirappalli, connected online and shared
their memories about their almamater.

SRC il Thiruvayaaru

The Department of Music celebrated Sathguru Sri Thyagaraja’s 175thAradhana


Celebration was conducted online on 24.01.2022. A Music Competition was conducted to
the Students of Department of Music in connection with the celebration. Smt. Krishnaveni
Ramdas, Carnatic Musician from Qatar acted as the Judge for the Competition. She was also
the Guest of Honour for the Aradhana Celebration.
Release of Music Album

The Department of Music launched an Album titled Tranquil Melodies, for children with
special needs on 31.01.2022 at Dolphin Special School, Tiruchirappalli.
Awards and Recognitions
Our revered Secretary Shri. R. Panchapakesan was awarded the certificate of appreciation in
honour of his valuable contribution towards Miyawaki Afforestation at Thatchankurichi
Panchayat by Shri. S. Sivarasu, IAS, District collector, Tiruchirappalli District on the 4th of
February 2022.
Our college was awarded with Ayesha Hospital shield, funded by Indian Medical Association
for having emerged first in the Tamil essay writing competition in view of Pongal
celebrations 2022.
The Dolphin special school and Centre, Tiruchirappalli acknowledged the service rendered
by Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College in supporting their Children with special needs by
conducting a workshop on disability management through Yoga and Nutrition.
Our college was bestowed with special shield of appreciation for the excellent conduct of
cultural events by the college in view of the 75th year of Independence Day celebrations –
Azadi Ka Amruth Mahotsav by the Department of Information and Public Relations of
Tiruchirappalli District.
Dr. S. Santhi, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry was bestowed with “Women
Researcher Award” by VDGOOD professional association, Pondicherry in April 2022.
Dr. J. Senthamarai, Associate Professor, Department of Hindi won the Global India
Excellence achievement award given by Bharath Rattan Publishing House, New Delhi in
January 2022.
Department of Women’s studies, Bharathidasan University honoured Dr. M. Nalini,

Women’s Day celebrations.

Dr. S. Usha, Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit was bestowed with C.V. Raman
prize by the Institute of Researchers, Kerala in August 2021. o Dr. V. Pazhanya, Dr. M.
Rajakumari, Dr. K. Umarani, Dr. R. Thilagam, Dr. G. Sudha, Faculty members of
Department of Tamil have received “Thirukkural Semmal” Award from Tamil Semmozhi

Dr. T. Sudhamathi, Physical Directress and Dr. A. Sumathi, Department of Mathematics
have received “Perasiriyar Semmal Award” from All India Tamil Writers Association,
Chennai in December 2021.
Dr. C. Lalithambal, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Music was awarded with
“Young Scholar” award by Porunai Illakkiya Kalam, Tamil Nadu Arakattalai and Nangal
Arakattalai, Chennai in May 2021.

Special Recognitions
Dr. S. Kala, Dean of Quality and Research, Associate Professor, Department of Botany acted
as External Expert for Academic & Administrative Audit at V.V. Vanniaperumal College for
Women, Virudhunagar on 07.10.2021.
Dr. J. Senthamarai Associate Professor, Department of Hindi acted as Academic Expert for
Career Advancement Scheme of UGC for college teachers in PSGR Krishnammal College on
14.08.2021 and Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore on 26.10.2021. She also acted as
Chief Superintendent for Central Hindi Directorate Examination held at NIT, Tiruchirappalli
on 16.11.2021 to 17.11.2021.
Hindu University of America and the Department of Sanskrit in collaboration with Bharat
Gyan, Chennai offered three International courses to the faculty members and students.
Internship projects have been sanctioned by Indian Knowledge Systems, IKS division,
Ministry of Education with AICTE. IKS internships promote interdisciplinary and
transdisciplinary research on all aspects of Indian Knowledge Systems. The duration of the
internship is two months with a stipend of Rs.10,000/- per month and Rs.5000/- for travel and
other miscellaneous expenses with a maximum of Rs.25,000/- for two months as per existing
AICTE norms. Twelve students from different departments have been sanctioned these
internships. Dr. S. Usha, Associate Professor of Sanskrit got approval as a recognised mentor
for the IKS internship project. Dr. S. Usha, acted as Subject Expert of the screening-cum-
evaluation committee for CAS at St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, Kalai Kaviri College
of Fine Arts, Tiruchirappalli, Vivekananda College, Tiruvedagam on 20.09.2021, 08.10.2021
and 26.03.2022 respectively.
Dr. R. Santhi, Associate Professor, PG & Research Department of Chemistry has acted as
reviewers in Oriental Journal of Chemistry and Current journal of Applied Science and
Technology in June and July 2021 respectively.
Dr. S. Santhi, Associate Professor, PG & Research Department of Chemistry, has been the
reviewer in Chemical Science International Journal in August 2021, Journal of
Pharmaceutical Research international in October 2021, February 2022 and March 2022,
Plant cell biotechnology and molecular biology in January 2022 and in Journal of
Complementary and alternative Medicinal Research.
Dr. V. Gomathi, Dr. I. Rama, Dr. G. Valarmathy, Dr. A. Subashini, Assistant Professors,
Department of Chemistry have the honour of being the life time member of Chemical
Research Society of India.
Dr. G. Valarmathy, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of Chemistry, has been
the reviewer in the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology in March 2022.
Dr. V. Parvathi Meena, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of English, has acted
as reviewer in Academia Letters, an online journal in July 2021.
V. Anusuya acted as Chairperson in the Heber International Conference on Applied
Mathematics on 26.4.2021.

PG and Research Department of Commerce has been sanctioned partial assistance of
Rs.10,000/- by Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE) to organize one
day National Seminar.
Dr. R. Sheela, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (Self-financed section) has
been sanctioned an amount of Rs.8,00,000/- funded by ICSSR major project scheme with
duration of two years.

Dr. M. Nalini, Associate Professor, PG and Research Department of History has published a
book titled, Pullamangai Aalanthuraiyur Koil published by R.G. Printers, Tiruchirappalli.
Faculty members of PG and Research Department of English published two books titled,

Department of Commerce

One day Seminar on the topic Business Ethics was held at Vidhya Ganapathi Hall
on 06.04.2022. The first technical session was addressed by Mrs. M. Tamilarasi, PG
Assistant (Rtd.), Girl’s High School, Vadugarpettai, Tiruchirappalli Dt. She insisted on
ethical values followed by business people both nationally and internationally.
Mr. K. Manuraj, Former Chief Engineer of Public Works Department conducted Ethical
management games to the students and provides an exposure to students on ethical values.

TANSCHE Sponsored one day national seminar on Issues and Challenges of


Startups in India was organized at Vidhya Ganapathi Hall on 12.4.2022. Mr. R. Venkatesh,
The Head, Care Business School addressed the first technical session on the topic Business
Problems – Solve to Evolve. Dr. V. Yamuna, Assistant Professor of Commerce,
Bharathidasan Government College for Women (Autonomous), Puducherry, during the
second technical session spoke on the topic The Indian Startup Ecosystem – Drivers and
Challenges. Dr. R. Sundhararaman, Principal, National College Tiruchirappalli gave
the valedictory address and issued certificates for the paper presenters.

PG and Research Department of Economics

Economics Association and PG Economics Club organized a UGC sponsored one day seminar
on “Contemporary Relevance of Social Entrepreneurship” was organized on 25.02.2021. In
Session I, Prof. M. Antony Stephen, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Social
Entrepreneurship, Madras School of Social Work, Chennai, spoke on the topic “Social
Entrepreneurship”. In Session II, Mr. Thiruppathi Perumal, Founder & Executive
Member, Abhinavgram Society, Kolli Hills, spoke on the topic “Entrepreneurship –
Marketing Techniques”.

Department of English
One Day International Webinar (Lecture Series I) was organized on the topic Higher
Education and Employment Opportunities Abroad. Ms. Samathmika Balaji, Senior
Manager of Operations, Learning and Development, Sofi Technologies Inc., Salt Lake City,
Utah, The United States of America was the speaker. She elaborated on the employment
opportunities abroad which enhanced and motivated the students to have better knowledge
about it and it provided a great exposure to all of the students.
PG and Research Department of Mathematics
 Organized a One day seminar on “Applications of Fuzzy Theory and
Differential equations”-08.04.2022. Dr. V. LAKSHMANA GOMATHI
NAYAGAm, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Mathematics,
NIT, Trichy, delivered a lecture on “Total ordering on Fuzzy Numbers
and its Applications”.

In connection with National Nutrition Month celebration, one day webinar was
conducted by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. In the first session,
[Link] Saravanan, from Inner wheel Trichy, Metro, spoke about “Social effect
on breast feeding”. In second session [Link] Mozhi, from TRIOGS, Trichy, spoke
on “Advantages of Breast feeding”. “Common issues related to breast feeding” was
discussed by [Link], Indian Academics of Paediatrics, Trichy. On the same
day, Mrs. Pragadheeshwari, CDPO, ICDS, Trichy imparted “Importance of
Nutrition for Nursing Mothers”.

One Day Seminar was organized on 30/09/2021. The speakers were [Link],
Associate Professor, Department of Home Science, [Link], Virudhunagar who
spoke on “Promoting Health for Children and Adolescents” and [Link],
Assistant Professor, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Department of Clinical Nutrition,
Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai who spoke on
“Optimizing Women’s Health through Nutrition”. It was such a wonderful session.
Various information on importance of maintaining health were given by the speakers.

Department of Biochemistry

Physician, [Link] Hospital, CDCC centre, Trichy, delivered the lecture about the
“EXCELLENCE OF WOMEN - Your health is an incredible investment” in
International Women’s Day celebration on 08.03.2022.

Microbiology, National College, Trichy- 1, gave a thought provoking lecture on the topic
“ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS AND THYROID DYSFUNCTIONS IN WOMEN” on
18.03.2022.

Department of Botany

Alumnae Webinar
Alumnae Webinar was conducted on 08.10.2021. The resource persons were

To celebrate World Biodiversity day, Department of Botany organized a webinar on the topic

On 13.04.2022, Dr. R. Lalitha, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce,

Commerce Association meeting on the topic “Start-ups – The future scope for
Sustainability” was held through online on 22.10.2021. Dr. R. Sornapriya, Assistant
Professor of Commerce, Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi addressed the

Ms R Durga, alumni of the Department of English, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami


College, enlightened the students on the topic “An Insight into the Art of Writing” on 23.
09.2021. She presented and addressed the students with an elaborate PowerPoint to explain
the nuances of the art of creative writing.
A meeting was organised on 24.09.2021 by the English Literary Association on the topic
“Breaking the Barriers: Literature and Gender” Ms. Nagalakshmi, Research Scholar,
Department of English, Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti, gave the students a
detailed explanation of what a gender means and how it affects the society and vice versa.

A webinar was organised on 12.10.2021. Dr Kamino Yukio, the first eco feminist from
Japan, addressed the students virtually on the topic “Male Create Crises. Can Females
Minimize their Impacts?” and gave a detailed description of the role of females in the
development and maintenance of the ecology.
Department of History
Dr. P. Kanimozhi, founder & Managing Trustee, EMPOWER TRUST, Tiruchirappalli
addressed the PG Club and History Association on ‘Women and Social Awareness’ on
18.3.2022. The chief guest in her address pointed out that family is the basic unit of society.
She also stated that it is good to accept criticisms and it is the best way for the growth of

World Breast Feeding Week Celebration – Nutrition Education
In connection with World Breast Feeding week, a programme was organized on the
theme “Importance of Breastfeeding”. The speaker was Mrs. Kuralselvi, Child
Development Project Officer, Karur. She shared various information on the
importance of the breastfeeding. Third year students of Department of Nutrition and
Dietetics, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchirappalli imparted nutrition
education to the pregnant women and lactating mothers. The people from various
places participated in the meeting.

National Web Conference in commemoration of National Science day was

International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21.06.2021. Major (Dr) [Link], [Link].,
[Link] (Yoga)., [Link]., Ph.D, Associate Professor & director of Physical Education, Urumu
Dhanalakshmi College, Tiruhirappalli, delivered the keynote address.

Digital Literacy programme was conducted on 04.10.2021. 2YRC Programme


officers and 10 students visited the adopted villages and gave digital awareness on
various issues like address change in the ration card, Aadhar card, various government
schemes for rural youth and online payment methods.
As a covid-19 awareness programme Youth Red Cross Wing donated 2000 face masks to
Bharathidasan University. Masks were handed over to the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan
University which were handed over to the District Collector for public usage.

Covid – 19 Vaccine camp was conducted in the college campus on 11.12.2021. Youth Red
Cross volunteers helped the health officials by regularising the persons came for vaccination.

Covid-19 awareness was given to the common public by distributing choclates to the persons
who wear masks and students advised the people who did not wear masks in Main Guard
Gate traffic signal on 12.01.2022. Two programme officers and five students participated in
the campaign.

Orientation programme to the first year YRC volunteers was conducted on 07.03.2022.

Youth Forum Study Circle


Youth Forum Study Circle of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College provides the
students opportunity to have a voice, discuss issues, engage with decision making, and get
trained to clear the competitive examinations. The study circle conducted a meeting on
COVID – 19 Vaccination – Myths and Realities on 19.01.2021. Dr. Ramalingam
Bethunaickan, Scientist E (Deputy Director) &DBT, NIRT (ICMR), Chennai spoke on the
topic The gathering was a need of the hour and nearly 200 students were benefitted.

The study circle conducted a meeting on Challenges faced by Women in the Sports
Arena on 25.08.2021 to felicitate the alumna of the college and also the pride Olympian Ms.
S. Dhanalakshmi. It was an inspirational session where the Olympian shared on the
challenges faced by her.
Mr. Ramamoorthy, Director Viswa IAS Academy spoke on the topic Strategize and
Succeed on 16.03.2022. It was an awareness meeting on competitive examinations. He
suggested some simple tips on how to prepare for those examinations. He explained on the
importance of critical thinking and smart working. He insisted on the importance of reading
newspapers and school textbooks as a daily practice to update themselves in current affairs.
The students were very much inquisitive and raised many doubts pertaining to the exam.
Nearly 150 students were benefitted through this programme.

Mr. [Link], Director Jothi IAS Academy was the resource person and spoke on the
topic Opportunities and Recent Changes in Competitive Examinations 2022 on 25.03.2022.
He advised the students to focus on attitude, aptitude tests and also on analytical reasoning
types of questions. He threw light on the importance of communication skills and vocabulary
skills so as to succeed in the competitive examinations. The students raised many doubts
relevant to the exam. The Youth Forum Study Circle is an organized event that gives the
students of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College the chance to express their ideas and opinions
so as to progress themselves in all aspects.

1. Digital Literacy Camp “ World on Wheels – Digital Inclusion and Learning Labs”,
Sponsered by Hewlett Packard and project partner Redington Foundation.
5 days awareness camp on Digital literacy to adopted villages(, Aadhikudi,
Mettupatti, Sirumayangudi, Agalanganallur and Manakkal) from 04/09/2021 to
08/10/2021 was organized by the Unnat Bharath Abhiyan Cell of Seethalakshmi
Ramaswami College. More than 400 villagers were benefitted by this camp.
2. Unnath Bharath Abhiyan Cell of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College observed
International World Water Day on 22.03.2022 under the theme “ Groundwater:
making the invisible visible”, [Link], Head, Research Department of
Zoology Dr. Maheswari created awareness among the students through presentation
on the usage of water and discussed measures to increase the water table to the
school primary school children at TELC primary School, Mettupatti.

● IQAC in collaboration with Unnath Bharath Abiyan {UBA) has organised a One

week “Digital Literacy Programme for Creating Awareness on Digital Media” in


the adopted villages on August 2021.

Department of Botany

Department of Botany completed extension activity under UBA scheme training

programme was carried out in the adopted village, Mettupatti, Lalgudi (Tk,) Tiruchirappalli

District on 07.05.2022. Dr. S. Thevasundari, and Dr. C. Thilagavathi, Assistant Professor of

Botany have accompanied the students to conduct training programme for home managers.

More than fifty members participated and benefitted through this programme. Dr. S.

Thevasundari gave a deep insight on the awareness of using herbal products. Our students

display the herbal preparation like hair oil, turmeric powder and shikakkai powder. Dr. C.

Thilagavathi described seed ball preparation and the need of afforestation. She also stressed

the importance of global warming and the current scenario of environmental pollution due to

deforestation. Our students enthusiastically explained about herbal preparations of hair oil,

turmeric face pack and shikakkai powder through power point presentation. Tree saplings

were distributed to the villagers and they actively participated and appreciated this training

programme.

Department of Biochemistry

Department of Biochemistry carried out a health awareness programme at Andhanallur


village, Srirangam (Tk), Trichy (Dt) Tamilnadu on 12.05.2022. Regarding life threatening
Blood related disorder anemia and Blood grouping. Two faculty and 30 Students were
involved in the diagnosis of Hemoglobin content and Blood grouping and 50 families were
benefited.

The extension activity was undertaken on 04-03-2021 at Mettupatti Village,
Tiruchirappalli. The students and faculty members from PG and Research Department of
Economics participated in the extension activity. The Panchayat President and Vice-President
organized a meeting for the village people. Soap oil and sanitizers were distributed to the
beneficiaries and a survey was conducted on problems faced by the households during
COVID-19 pandemic situation. The faculty members and students created awareness on
healthy and hygienic practices which should be followed during COVID pandemic situation
and also the self-employment opportunities available in the society. The Village President,
Vice- President and all the beneficiaries extended their fullest support and cooperation for the
services rendered by the team. The Panchayat president honoured the college with a shield

The extension activity was undertaken on 04-03-2021 at Mettupatti Village, Lalgudi
Taluk, Tiruchirappalli. The students and faculty members from YRC, PG and Research
Department of Commerce, Commerce (S.F), Applied Commerce, BBA, PG and Research
Department of Economics, PG and Research Department of History participated in the
activity.

Department of Botany and Youth Exnora International jointly organized a meeting to
celebrate “World Ozone Day” on 16.09.2021. The speakers of this meeting were

topic “Ozone layer Depletion” and Rishikaa. S of II [Link]., presented PPT on the topic

On the eve of National Science Day, a meeting was organized on 28.02.2022.
Prof. Dr. A. Ilangovan, Dean-Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, School of
Chemistry, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli – 24 was the chief guest and
spoke on the topic “Chemistry in Everyday Life”

The department conducted various activities in connection with International Women’s Day
Week Celebration which included a motivational talk on Women’s Rights are Human
Rights by Dr. M. Nagashwari, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of History,
Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College. It was followed by a collaborative workshop on Women
Empowerment through Yoga on day 2 and it was addressed by [Link], Former

English. Day 5 of the Women’s day week came to an end with a literary quiz on the topic
Elizabethan and Victorian age women writers. It is followed by valedictory function and the

In view of World Sleep Day, events were organised on 18.03.2022. The day was celebrated in
order to create awareness about the importance of sleep and how lack of sleep affects both
physical and mental health. An awareness speech was presented by a student on the importance of
speech.
The department celebrated Theatre Day on 07.04.2022. Students made PowerPoint
presentations on three different topics – Shakespearean Theatre, Women Playwrights and
Contemporary Theatre and Playwrights. The presentation was elaborate and it gave an
insight into theatrical arts since the ancient times, till date.

DELIGHT 2022 – An Intradepartmental Literary Festival was organised on 13.04.2022.


Various competitions such as Short Story Writing, Literary Quiz, If They Meet on the theme
Science Fiction were conducted to the students. This event helped the students to showcase
their hidden talents and provided opportunities to all the students to participate actively.
Shakespeare’s Day was celebrated on 26.04.2022. Students offered tributes to the
literary legend by reciting his sonnets and enacting famous soliloquies of famous
Shakespearean characters.

 In commemoration of 134th Birth Anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan,


PG & Research Department of Mathematics celebrated “National
Mathematics Day” on 22.12.2021. Ms. V. SAKTHIPRIYA & Ms. B.
DHANUSHGA III [Link]. Mathematics were the speakers. On that day,
Quiz programme and Rangoli competition were conducted.

 On 8.3.2022, International women’s day was celebrated. Mrs.


VASANTHI, Retired teacher and Mrs. VATSALA, our alumnae shared
their memories of our esteemed Institution.

 Navarathri Celebration was organised by the Department of Music on 07.10.2021.

Birth Anniversary on the topic Bharathiyar Kanda Pennulagu on

 The Department of Music celebrated Arudhra day by alumnae and students on


20.12.2021.
 The Department of Music celebrated Swathi Thirunal Day on 27.12.2021. Swathi
Thirunal Maharaja’s compositions were rendered by the Students of Department of
Music.
In connection with International Women’s Day, One Day Workshop on “Happy
Parenting” was organized on 08/03/2022. Two speakers namely [Link], Director,
Mitra Section, Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai and Mrs. Leema Peter,
Psychologist, Trichy, spoke on “Yoga for Energy and Mental Peace” and “Self Retreat”
respectively. On the same day, [Link], Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit,
Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Trichy, spoke on “Bloom from within”. The
speaker makes us to feel energetic with the activities of Yoga. At the end of the session
the participants were enriched with good knowledge on yoga.

MICHAEL FARADAY WEEK


PG and Research Department of Physics, [Link] Kalam Science Club and
B. Voc. Electronics circuit designer and electrician jointly organized “MICHAEL
FARADAY WEEK” from 22.09.2021 to 25.09.2021. To celebrate 230 years of Michael
Faraday, National Level Quiz and Webinar series was organized via online mode.

ENRICO-FERMI DAY
“Enrico-Fermi day” was celebrated on 29.09.2021 through virtual mode to
reminisce the scientist Fermi and his contribution in nuclear era. Ms. [Link] Praarthana
of I [Link]. Physics, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College and Ms. [Link] of II [Link].
Physics, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College were the speakers. They spoke on Profundity
of Enrico’s-Fermi Biography. More than 200 students participated in this event through
virtual mode.

celebrated 90th birthday of Kalam 15.10.2021. An eye opening webinar was organized on
the topic “Role of [Link] Kalam in Satellite and Missile Technology”.
Ms. [Link], III UG Physics of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Trichy and
speaker [Link] spoke about the “Missile man of India”, [Link] Kalam.
National Science day was celebrated on 28.02.2022 to mark the discovery of Raman
Effect by the great Indian Physicist Sir. C. V. RAMAN. A webinar was organized on the
topic “The role of physicists in the energy sector”. Resource person Dr. I. Prakash,
Assistant Professor – Research, School of electrical and electronic engineering, Sastra
Deemed University, Thanjavur spoke about carrier guidance and work opportunities in the
energy sector followed by the physics Expo 2022, the chief guest Dr [Link]
Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of Physics, National College visited the
Expo where many students exhibited their talents.

Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated between 02.10.2021 and 03.10.2021. Dr. S. Usha, Associate
Professor & Head of Sanskrit, Co-ordinator, Centre for Ethics and Human Values, Seethalakshmi
Ramaswami Collge, Tiruchirappalli acted as resource person.

Water Day and Forest day was celebrated on 21.03.2022 & 22.03.2022 and Miss. S. Nakshathra,
III B. Sc., Zoology and Miss. S. Ananya, II B. Sc., Zoology delivered a lecture on Green Guards and
Water the Elixir of life.
International Women’s Day was celebrated on 08.03.2022 and G. Kalaivani, Inspector of
Police, All Women Police Station, Pudhukotti District and S. Srividhya Legal cum Probation Officer,
District Child Protection Unit, Trichy delivered lecture on Precaution steps for crime against
women and children.

On the eve of celebrating e-waste day (14 th October 2021), we conducted


awareness programme for school children on the topic “How to scrap e-waste”.
