Making pizza at home can be a fun and rewarding process.

Here's a basic recipe for

making homemade pizza from scratch:

Ingredients:

Pizza Dough:

 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast

 1 teaspoon sugar
 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
 1 teaspoon salt
 1 tablespoon olive oil

Pizza Sauce:

 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes

 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
 1 teaspoon dried oregano
 1 teaspoon dried basil
 Salt and pepper to taste
 1 tablespoon olive oil

Toppings:

 Shredded mozzarella cheese

 Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough: a. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it
sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. b. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 1/2
cups of flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive
oil. c. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. d. Knead the dough on a floured surface
for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If it's too sticky, add more
flour as needed. e. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and
let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
2. Make the Pizza Sauce: a. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add
minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. b. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil,
salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go (usually
around 475°F/245°C).

4. Assemble the Pizza: a. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a
floured surface to your desired thickness. b. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza
stone or a baking sheet. c. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small
border around the edges. d. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
e. Add your favorite toppings.

5. Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or
until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Enjoy: Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy your homemade
pizza!

Feel free to customize the recipe according to your preferences and get creative with
your toppings!
