EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Philippines is one of the unhealthiest countries in Asia as of 2011’s survey of AIA
Group. 80% of Filipino Adults are said to be unsatisfied with their diet and 44% of these
adults are overweight due to insufficient exercise and poor eating habits. Unhealthy
eating habits are common, ranging to up to 84% among the population tend to eat
while distracted, 81% percent admitted to eating unhealthy snacks between meals and
71% eat their dinner closer to their bed time. These unhealthy can lead to obesity,
hypertension, gout and heart disease. It seems to appear that most Filipinos prefer
unhealthy foods because they taste better than the healthy ones. Having such problem
in terms of health among Filipinos, we decided to make a product that is based on the
concept of other popular products in the market and make it healthier.
What if the healthy foods can be as tasty as the unhealthy foods that people
tend to choose over and over? We, therefore, introduce Aguingers: Tatak Aguinaldo,
Tatak Pabibo ‘Kung saan busog ang Tiyan Mo!” which offers healthy but delectable
snacks that can be enjoyed by many. These products include: Gamorra Chips – a chips
made of kangkong, Onion Strange – fried onions covered with flour and seasonings,
Hulk Punch – a drink out of mixture of sprite and Calamansi and Thanos’ Orb – a sweet
potato and Calamansi juice. Having such problem in terms of health among Filipinos, we
decided to make a product that is based on the concept of other popular products in the
market and make it healthier.
The main purpose of the Aguingers from making these products is to introduce a
healthy product that people can enjoy and go against the common perspective

regarding the taste of healthy products as unsatisfying. The business will target the
students from the University of Saint Anthony, including all Educational levels in it, but
will be focusing more on the Senior High School Department. In terms of Sales, the
products will be sold in an affordable price and will also be sold in promos which enables
the customer to have more of the product in a lesser price.
The products will be introduced through different strategies. The first strategy
that we’ll use is the direct selling of our product, which means that we will be able to
explain the relevance of our product and persuade the buyers better. We’ll be going
from room to room to introduce our product as well as sell it to the customers directly or
get pre-orders from them. The second one is the distribution of flyers among the
customers which contains the informations regarding our product, the pictures of our
products, and the promos they can avail and our contact information and means of
purchasing our products. Lastly, is the utilization of social media which will reach out to
a greater number of potential customers and explain to them our contact information as
well as the informations regarding our products.
Potential risks can be encountered along the way such as the risk of customers’
and food safety, the risk of low sales because of the unfamiliar products that we offer to
the customers and the competitors that may be selling the same products, the shortage
of supply of products in accordance with the demands of the customer that may be
unpleasing to them and the purchasing means of the customers because those are the
ways that the customers can buy our product, there’s even a possibility that the
customers will not get flyers or doesn’t know how to contact us which will be of loss on

our part. Nevertheless, the business will make strategies to avoid these risks and ensure
the satisfaction of our customers and show them the relevance of our product.

body with nutrients which they can afford in an affordable taste and will surely let them
taste something new yet something that they will really like.
COMPETITOR ANALYSIS
Comparing our products to the other existing products in the food industry, our
competitors’ strength may include:
1. Food Trends
Although our products are considered popular among the customers,
those products are still new to the taste of customer because of its
change in ingredients. Competitors may offer something more popular or
trendy among customers without modifying its ingredients which only
means that customers wouldn’t hesitate to take it because they’re sure of
its taste and if they like that taste
2. More Products offered
Other food businesses may offer more products to the customers, giving
them more options to choose from. This will only mean that among the
ranges of the product offered by the other business, a product similar to
the products we offer can be within that range as well causing a division
of customers who wants the same product.
The competitors may also have weaknesses such as:
1. Higher Selling Price
5
UNIVERSITY OF SAINT ANTHONY
(DR. SANTIAGO G. ORTEGA MEMORIAL)
CITY OF IRIGA
Senior High School Department
Our competitors may sell their products in a relevantly higher price than
the products that we offer. This only means that there’s a lesser chance
for them to sell their product if there are other products cheaper than
theirs which can be a better option to the customers.
2. Less Healthy Product
The products offered by the other sellers may have lesser nutrition value
than the products we offer which may drift the customers’ interest to the
other products with higher nutrition value especially those customers who
have a healthier lifestyle or any health issues.

CRITICAL RISKS
19
UNIVERSITY OF SAINT ANTHONY
(DR. SANTIAGO G. ORTEGA MEMORIAL)
CITY OF IRIGA
Senior High School Department
As Aguingers enter the food business, some risks may come in our way such as:
1. Risk of Low Sales
When it comes to profit, there are two possible amounts that the
business will get: High amount of sales and Low amount of Sales.
Considering the new products that we are offering - which can also be
unfamiliar to most of our target customers – we may get a low amount of
profit. The perspective of some regarding the taste of the ingredients
(vegetables) of our products may affect their final decision whether they
will purchase our products or not. We really can’t change that perspective
or decide for the customers so there still is the risk of acquiring low sales
2. Competitive Risk
There are so many competitors in the area that threatens our business to
have lesser number of customers and lesser amount of profit. The
competitors’ product may be trendier than ours or they may offer
products that the customers may want which means that the customers
may patronize the product of our competitors than us.
