WHAT IS FLEXIBILITY
Flexibility is defined as the ability to move a joint, or a series of
joints, fluidly through the full range of motion without causing
injury. The structured implementation of flexibility programs is
a common practice in the clinical and physical-sports field.
TYPES OF FLEXIBILITY
Static flexibility: ability to reach and maintain
a stretched posture.
Dynamic flexibility: ability to make large
movements with the joints.
Active flexibility: ability to move a joint or
muscle by contraction of the opposite
muscle.
EXAMPLES
Exercises that can make you improve your flexibility:
Standing Calf and Achilles'
Tendon Stretch.
-Staggered Hamstring Stretch.
-Figure-Four Stretch.
-Seated Quad Stretch.
-Child's Pose.
-Wall Slide.
-Sleeper Stretch Shoulder
Rotation.
-90/90 Hip Stretch.
IMPORTANCE OF FLEXIBILITY
Keeping the body flexible will improve our posture, thus
minimizing problems such as pain. In addition, having good
flexibility will require less energy to perform the joint movement.
Thanks to stretching, we relax our muscles after exercise.
It should be said that, apart from these benefits, flexibility
plays a key role in the prevention of muscle injuries, since
many of these are caused by the execution of a movement
with a greater range than usual on a rigid area, with
flexibility. reduced, (low back pain, sprains, tendinopathy...).
TRAINING SYSTEMS
of flexibility
There are different flexibility training
systems, each with its own characteristics
and approaches. Some of the most popular
include the static method, in which
stretching positions are held for a set period
of time; the dynamic method, which involves
controlled and repetitive movements; and
the proprioceptive neuromuscular
facilitation (PNF) method

FLEXIBILITY GOAL
The goal of flexibility exercises is to maintain or increase
the range of motion of the joints and avoid as much as
possible the large decrease seen with age.
The main objective of flexibility exercises is to achieve
mobility values that are compatible with the
functionality of the daily use of body segments.
