Systematic Salt Analysis Guide

The document provides instructions for identifying the cation and anion in a unknown salt through a series of chemical tests. The tests include: 1. Preliminary tests to identify possible cations like copper, iron, nickel, cobalt, and manganese based on color. 2. Additional tests to identify other cations like calcium, strontium, barium, and copper through flame tests, and cations like aluminum, zinc, and magnesium through ash tests. 3. Tests to identify common anions like carbonate, chloride, bromide, iodide, nitrate, phosphate, sulfate, and acetate using acid/base reactions and formation of precipitates. 4. Confirmatory
