HSE Management System Overview

The document discusses health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management systems used in various industries, including oil and gas. It provides an overview of TotalEnergies' HSE management system called MAESTRO, which defines the group's HSE expectations. MAESTRO must be implemented at the local level through specific documents developed by each affiliate. Examples of other industries' HSE management systems are also given, such as ExxonMobil's Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) for oil and gas, Emirates Airline's four-component safety management system, and Pfizer's environmental, health, and safety management system.

PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION

MAESTRO is:
• TotalEnergies Corporate HSE Management System which defines the Group HSE expectations
• Applicable to all Branches, all Entities, all Affiliates of TotalEnergies Group

MAESTRO is not:
• Describing how the Company HSE expectations have to be practically implemented at local level
• Sufficient in itself, as it requires a set of specific documents developed by each Entity to describe how
the Group expectations are met at the Affiliate perimeter, which then constitute the “Affiliate HSE
Management System”

The local HSE Management Systems of the Affiliates are regularly audited by the Group, as well as their
actual implementation and the resulting HSE performance.

HSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1. All Companies must have a HSE Management System

2. Each local Affiliate of the Company has to implement a “mirror” HSE-MS describing its
practical implementation
3. The HSE-MS must be known and applied by all Company personnel
4. Special action has to be taken with Contractors to “bridge” the respective HSE-MS, as
appropriate
5. Monitoring compliance and performance in the application of the HSE-MS is a must
6. An Affiliate HSE-MS requires regular updating
