Engine Starting

The document provides an operating procedure for a Perkins generator with 5 steps: 1. Pre-start checks including visual inspection of components, checking fluid levels, and condition of the battery and oil. 2. Start-up procedure which includes switching off loads, starting the control panel, and turning the generator breaker and start button while monitoring gauges. 3. Operation monitoring including gradually connecting loads, regularly checking gauges and indicators, and refueling as needed. 4. Shutting down by first unloading the generator then turning it off and performing post-operation checks. 5. Emergency shutdown procedure in case of any abnormal conditions.
