At the end of this activity, the FS student must be able to achieve the following intended learning outcomes:
1. identify the social roles and functions of a teacher to promote harmonious relationships with learners, parents,
schools and the wider community;
2. understand and appreciate the importance of School-Community partnership in the educative process; and
3. recognize the importance of teachers’ assuming responsibility for personal growth and professional development
for lifelong learning.
LEARNING OVERVIEW
This activity will include lectures in the form of a seminar-workshop. It will focus on community linkages,
teacher’s personal and professional attributes and development, and the importance of their involvement to research
and extension activities. The 21st century skills of a teacher which now he/she engages in, develop/posses will be given
emphasis.
Observation/Interview
Direction: Read the following items below before doing the indicated tasks.
1. Attend a seminar-workshop to be conducted by the campus.
2. Conduct an interview with a teacher/principal:
a) regarding school-community activities and also his/her personal and professional growth; and
b) who is an awardee/successful. You may ask how his/her educational preparation of experience
made him/her successful in her teaching career. How or why he/she became an awardee.
3. Follow the minimum health protocol at all times.
4. Observe etiquette during the observation and interview process.
