This patent describes an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) device that produces a short-duration, intense electromagnetic field. It consists of a conductive coil that generates a magnetic field when energized. Plasma discharge devices are disposed along the coil and are activated to create a traveling short circuit of the coil. This compresses the magnetic field, producing an electromagnetic pulse without using explosives. The device aims to generate EMPs at higher frequencies than traditional explosive-based designs.
