Ms. Surabhi Gupta is a General Manager in Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and has done Masters in
Finance and Control from Lucknow University. She joined SEBI in 2002 as a Trainee Officer. She is currently posted in
Corporation Finance Department and handles matters related to Corporate Governance, ESG, Regtech and supervision &
monitoring of disclosures by listed entities.
Before this her portfolio involved handling of matters related to Credit Rating Agencies and debenture trustees. Over the
last 5 years she has worked extensively towards strengthening the regulatory framework for CRAs, including their
supervision, inspection and enforcement. She has represented SEBI in various parliamentary committees with regard to
matters pertaining to CRAs. She has also been instrumental in framing the recent framework of sustainability disclosures by
Surbhi gupta (Chair) corporates called the BRSR and BRSR Core.
Over a career span of over 21 years in SEBI, she has worked in various departments and has handled work related to policy
and inspection of Mutual Funds, policy related to stock exchange and depository, and market surveillance. She has served
as member secretary of RBI-SEBI technical committee on CRAs and had represented India in IOSCO supervisory college of
CRAs. She is currently a part of the working Group between India-UK on ESG related issues and IOSCO Sustainable
Finance Task Force.
Mr. Jitendra Kumar has more than 23 years of experience in the areas of
securities markets, Banking and Academics. He is presently the DGM in the
Corporation Finance Department (CFD) of Securities and Exchange Board of
India (SEBI). He has worked in the various departments of SEBI. He is also the
member of the Editorial Board of “SEBI Bulletin”-a monthly publication of SEBI.
He has also worked as the Member of Faculty for more than 5 years at NISM,
an educational initiative of SEBI.

Jitendra Mahakud is a professor of Economics and Finance at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His areas of
research and teaching include financial markets, commercial banking, corporate finance, financial econometrics, investment

and co-authored the book titled Financial Institutions and Markets. Currently, he is serving as one of the members in the
Research Advisory Committee (RAC), SEBI.
Suneel Sarswat is an adjunct faculty at NISM. His current research area is formal methods in finance and regulations. He
has 15 years of experience in research and teaching. Before joining academics, he worked for Bank of America as a
quantitative research analyst. He has trained officers from RBI, SEBI, Exchanges, Banks, and other financial institutions. He
has presented his work at international conferences in theoretical computer science. Besides adjunct faculty at NISM, he is
also a part-time consultant at Decimal Point Analytics.
Suneel Saraswat (Discussant)
He completed his master’s degree in applied statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai in 2005. He did his
Ph.D. from the School of Computer Science at TIFR in the area of formal methods and logic.
Tirthankar Patnaik is Chief Economist at the National Stock Exchange of India. He has 20 years of experience in Indian
capital markets, macro and sector strategy, quantitative finance and consumer banking.
Dr. Patnaik started his career as a researcher at IGIDR and worked on a number of academic and corporate projects in the
area of econometrics and quantitative finance, followed by a stint in consumer banking analytics as an analyst with the
Global Consumer Group of Citibank in India and Europe. His next focus area was equity strategy for institutional clients,
initially with Citigroup Global Markets as India equity strategist, and then with Religare Capital Markets Ltd, as the India
Strategist and Chief Economist. In his last assignment prior to joining NSE, he was the Chief Strategist and Head of
Research for India, at Japan-based Mizuho Bank.
He has a PhD from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai, where his area of research was high-

University of Madras.
Aniket Bhanu has been associated with the NSE Group since 2009. He currently heads the policy and research functions at
NSE Clearing. Aniket has been instrumental in shaping and implementing several reforms in financial markets through
Aniket Bhanu (Chair) numerous working groups set up by SEBI. He has presented research in multiple international conferences which has also

"Dr. Deepali Dixit is a Deputy General Manager in the Department of Economic and Policy
Analysis (DEPA) of SEBI. She has been working with SEBI for 20 years now.
She has worked for in the Integrated Surveillance Department of SEBI as a part of data
warehousing team. She was instrumental in setting up of Local Office of SEBI in Indore, M.P. As
part of her assignments in the Indore, Dr. Dixit has been closely involved in work related to
CIS/DPI cases, Investment Advisors/Research Analysts, Inspections, Investor Awareness
programs of SEBI etc.
She is associated with DEPA I for a considerable period of time in her career handling research

Somaiya Institute of Management, Welingkar Institute of Management (WeSchool) and Narsee Monjee Institute
of Management Mumbai. She has been visiting faculty with SP Jain Global Institute of Management, Singapore

Dr. Latha Chari is a Doctorate in Finance from BITS Pilani, Post Graduate in Commerce and a FCMA (Fellow Member of the
Institute for Cost Accountants of India). She has an experience of about two decades equally divided between academia
and industry. She started her academic career as a Fellow with IILM, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
Before joining NISM, Dr. Chari has worked with Institute for Technology and Management and ITM Institute of Financial
Markets for more than a decade. She joined ITM as lecturer and grew up the hierarchy to become the Deputy Director,
heading ITM Institute of Financial Markets. During her academic tenure she has published papers in various national and

and operations in equity markets, performance evaluation of mutual funds and the like.

Dr. Rachana Baid is Professor at National Institute of Securities Markets. She has been teaching, consulting, and training in
financial markets since 1996. She has been a visiting faculty with XLRI Jamshedpur, S.P. Jain Global School of
Management, Mumbai, Singapore and Dubai. Earlier she has taught courses at IIM-Indore, NMIMs Mumbai, and few other
management schools. She has worked with Indian Institute of Capital Markets (IICM) for 9 years from 2001 to 2010. At IICM
she has conducted more than 200 workshops and training sessions for the professionals in the Indian capital market as well
as for the participants from other countries. She has conducted training sessions for the officers of IAS, IRS, and CBI as well
