Economic Globalization and Sustainable Development
ANSWER:
Reaction Paper on the Global Broadcast of “Nations United”
A recap on the 30 – minute film about the global broadcast of Nations United. It
discusses the issues that our world is facing right now. Namely the sustainable
development goals, four global issues, the story of the world, and humans reimagining
and reshaping the future.
The sustainable development goals are the set of solutions that for the biggest
problems that we are facing right now in which all the United Nations member states
signed it up. It is true and it is becoming evident now that what we really need is
solutions in order to sustain our resources and for the world to be more green. We need
solutions that will make our world a living place for the next generations.
The second insight about the video is about the four global issues that we are
currently facing right now. First is the Climate and Planet. Watching the chapter one of
the video made me tear up as it involves numerous humans and animals dying. It is
evident as to why certain events like the flood in Indonesia happened and it is the fault
of humans. The second issue is about Poverty and Inequality. Watching the video about
this made me realize that a better opportunity means a better life. Why did I say this is
because there was someone who made an experiment in the video and it shows that

there is so much more to the children if they are given opportunities. The inequality
about opportunities is one of the reason as to why there is a poverty. The third issue is
Justice and Human Rights. My key takes on this chapter was the unending
discrimination and racism of white people against black people. This discrimination and
racism has been long going for centuries now and it is not ending. Although there are
some people who has claimed justice, until now, there is still an evident and on – going
discrimination against black people. It also tackles the injustice because of sex,
religions, opinions, and other differences. The fourth issue is the Gender Equality. This
issue is also going on for ages now. The video tackles the inequality against women as
it states that most men are the leaders. Also, the inequality based on the opportunities
and the salaries that the women are getting, women are getting less opportunities and
their salaries are much lower than men. We could also discuss the patriarchy in which
the women are only allowed to stay inside the house and take care of the household
chores. These are some of the inequality that needs to be changed.
The story of the world tells us that it needs immediate actions and solutions as the
issues and crisis that we are facing right now are becoming worst. It tells us that we
need to take action in order for us to live a healthier life, to have an equal society, and
enjoy the safer and more productive lives. All of the people needs to have unity and
solidarity.
It states in the video that there is a power in every decision we make. We can
shape the society and the future in every decision we make. It is true that people have
to make choices, to decide and we have to be one in every decision we make. We have
to be accountable in every decision we make. Humans have the power to change the
world and it will lie on the choices and decisions the one person will make.

All in all, I had a great time watching the 30 – minute video presentation about our
world as I have learned so much. I have gained more insights about the problems and
issues that our world is facing right now.
