I. INTRODUCTION

Computers are essential in our current way of life, but this was not always the case.
We will discover the beginnings of computers to our days and its components

1. WHAT IS A COMPUTER?

A computer is a complex machine intended primarily to store data and process

them to transform them and then render them on screen or on printer. For example,
the text you enter is stored in computer; formatted and printed these tasks are
achievable using hardware components and instructions grouped into programs. A
computer is able to perform four types of operations:

- Receive the data you enter there

- Process this data
- Store them;
- Sort the data after processing it.

2. THE INTERNAL COMPONENTS OF THE COMPUTER

a. The processor

The processor is the brains of your computer. The more powerful it is, the faster the
information is processed! Its calculation entities are called courses. There are
processors with two, four or six hearts. Its effectiveness also depends on its
frequency, expressed in gigahertz (GHz).
b. RAM

This is storage space reserved for your computer. While you work, it places all the
temporary data there allowing it to be reactive! The more RAM, the more
responsive your PC is. She measure in gigabytes (GB).

c. The graphics card

She is responsible for displaying all graphic elements: games. but also photos,
videos and software... It is sometimes called a video card. Of more and more
graphics cards include memory dedicated solely to the display, or even an
independent processor!
d. The hard drive
The hard drive is the storage space reserved for the user: I hosts your documents,
programs, data... Its capacity is expressed in giga- bytes (GB), or terabytes (TB,
1TB = 1000 GB). From 300 GB to 2 TB, there are of all sizes! It is also possible to
add SSD hard drives internal in certain computers, or to connect them externally

e. The motherboard
The motherboard is the base on which all the elements fit together It accommodates
all the components of your computer, and conditions its possibilities for
development. Depending on the number of slots it present, you can later add
memory sticks, change the processor OR integrate a graphics card... It also includes
the chips and, responsible for transmitting information between components and
the computer. It has various additional options like Wi-Fi cards, sound...
f. Reader/writer
Although optional, it is in fact almost essential! Screwed to the housing and
connected to the motherboard, it can read different formats. Its performances are
defined by its reading and writing speeds, as well as the formats it supports (CD,
DVD, Blu-ray, etc.).

g. The power supply box

It often goes hand in hand with the PC case. Responsible for the arrival of electric
current, it is measured in watts. It is presented in the form of a case, and integrates
fans These are the input devices. You use these devices to send the data to the
computer that it must process.

II. EXTERNAL COMPONENTS OF THE COMPUTER

a. The different external standard components has. Input devices

- The keyboard

- The mouse

- The scanner

b. Output devices
- Video monitor or screen

- Printer

- Modem

III. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING COMPUTERS

a. ADVANTAGES
- More student interest and motivation More fun races, children can watch
videos and simulations scout music, look at photos, so that learning becomes
more fun.
- Learning computer science and mechanography which will be very useful for
the future of children.
- Very rapid and economical access to information, students are not forced to
buy books.
- Possibility of having instant feedback or correction of activities carried out.
- Ease of teachers distributing tasks to be done among students and more
communication between teacher and student using chats or emails.
- Ease of communication with students from other countries, so it's
- possible to learn languages and experience different cultures
- Saving paper, then more ecological and respectful with Your environment.
- Facilitated by students who experience some type of inability to follow the
races with normality
- In terms of health, no back pain from carrying lots of books each day

b. Disadvantages
- Difficulty for teachers to know what the students are doing is possible that
children play or talk with the cat instead of doing their work.
- Ease of students making cheat sheets or searching for information during
exams.
- Risk of finding information that is unreliable or unsuitable for children.
- Risk of children experiencing cyberbulling or harassment through the
Internet.
- Loss of manual writing if they do all the homework by writing with the
computer.
- Lack of creativity when it comes to getting work done.
- Loss of ability to calculate and correct spelling mistakes
- since the computer already does all that.
- On a psychological level, isolation of people, that is to say it brings a lack of
communication between the children and an increment of sedentaryism.
- Computer dependence of young children, who spend money at home their
time with video games and social networks.
- In terms of health, eye and head pain from looking at everything day an
illuminated screen.
- And back, neck and arm pain from using the mouse Risk of computer failure
or lack of Internet speed, which will cause that the students cannot follow the
course well.
- Risk of theft and then obligation of parents to buy a new one computer, and
that brings social class differences
CONCLUSION
To conclude, I want to say that the computer is a very good tool in terms of
concerns education, however it brings many dangers which are difficult to avoid. In
addition, in my opinion, it is very important for the education of children, that they
do manual work to develop their creativity, and also that they play with each other
in order to establish friendly relations. To finalize, I want to say that I am for the
partial use of computers school, but against the sole use of computers
