Features of travelogues
-many follow the same core pattern in their stories
-they begin with the traveller explaining the events leading up to their trip, as
well as their reasons for travelling.
-narrative and descriptive elements
- details related to setting (landscape, cultures, people, food)
- throughout this portion, the traveller will give their opinions and thoughts
on what they have seen.
-These thoughts may be exaggerated and humourous, or heartfelt and sincere
-subjective voice
- will end with the traveller reaching their destination, either home or
somewhere new. Upon reaching their destination, the traveller may reflect on
their journey and the impact it has had on their life.
