Result of Life Comparison Test on D155A Link Assy Internal
(Komatsu Genuine Link Assy vs Competitor’s Link Assy) use
only
We made UC life comparison test between Komatsu Genuine link assy and Competitor’s
one on D155A-2 which works in country “A”. And it was confirmed / proved that Komatsu
Genuine link assy has 1.44 times longer life than Competitor’s link assy.
On both Komatsu Genuine link assy and Competitor’s one, Bushing O.D. wear was most
critical and criteria for link assy life in tested application. And we are confident that
Komatsu’s special heat treatment on bushing gives deeper hardened zone and produces
superior life than Competitor.

C, Evaluation after disassembling tested link assy
1. Bushing wear of Competitor’s track is much bigger than Komatsu track. And
there are some cracks (from inside) on Competitor’s bushing already

2) Komatsu’s special heat treatment on bushing gives deeper
hardened zone and longer life than Competitor
2. There are some dry joints (no lubricating oil anymore) on Competitor’s track

Residual thickness of Komatsu is more than double of Competitor’s Bushing
Wear of Competitor’s Bushing is much larger than Komatsu. Some of Bushing
had a crack from I.D. already. It’s almost limit of use

There was a step due
to internal wear
On Komatsu, lubricating oil still remains half volume in all pins.
On Competitor’s track, there were 2 dry joints already and started link pitch
elongation.
