• Answer ONE question in Section A.
(80 minutes) • You will get a choice of eight topics of which a minimum of two and a maximum of three will be a
visual stimuli (pictures).CHOOSE ONLY ONE!
• Choose a topic that appeals to you and figure out an intriguing/Interesting way to present your
essay.
• Remember to plan your essay by either using a mind map/diagram/flow chart/key words.
• Edit and proofread your work.
• The plan must appear BEFORE your final answer that will be assessed.
• Clearly indicate your planning AND draw a line through all your planning.
• Write neatly and legibly!
• Your essay should be 250–300 words in length.

SECTION C Question 3: Shorter Transactional Texts 20
• You will get a choice of 3 texts to choose from.
(30 minutes) • Answer ONE question in Section C.
• The length of your text should be 80–100 words.
• The THREE topics will be set from the categories below (ONE from each of the categories):
Category A: Advertisement/Invitation card/Flyer/Poster
Category B: Diary entries/Short Message System (SMS), namely: WhatsApp, Facebook
Messenger etc.
Category C: Instructions/Directions
• Remember: No marks are awarded for pictures, sketches, etc.
