in INDIA. This company has established itself as the leading & largest manufacturer and supplier of Ready
Mixed Concrete in INDIA since 1993. Company was established in 1993 with participation from RDC
Concrete, SINGAPORE.

Their wide range of normal concrete mixes available in varying grades and our incorporation of cutting-
edge technology, they deliver top-notch RMC solutions to clients in the construction, infrastructure, and
real estate industries, among others. Their unwavering commitment to customers satisfaction remains the
cornerstone of our success, as evidenced by their projected annual turnover, which is expected to reach
INR 2,500crore by the end of the financial year.

As we know our country is under developing country were uncountable numbers of construction are going
on for improving or developing our country infrastructure. so the demand of their product is increasing .
That’s why company is decided to established 30 more plants of RDC Concrete at the end of 2024 to
increase there production and supply capacity of their product .

Overview :-
RDC Concrete, formally known as Unitech Prefab is a pioneering name as INDIAN construction leader in
construction industry . RDC Concrete as (Unitech Prefab) established in India as first commercial Ready Mix
Concrete (RMC) plant in Thane which is located in Mumbai in !((# in association with RDC Concrete . At that
time its authorized share capitals is INR 60.00 cr and the total paid-up is INR 8.68 cr . Currently it has a
network of 95 RMC plants spread across the India . Unworldly City, New Town, Rajarhat, KOLKATA 700156
plants total capacity is 3,15,36,000 cubic meters (APPROX) in a year .

RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. Manufactures and supplies Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC ) and various types of
concrete . which are designed in its well equipped laboratories as per established procedures to comply
with various provisions of Indian Standards according to different land , soils and climates . Company
experienced logistics teams works closely with customers to ensures that the concrete of requiste quality is
delieverd on time and in the appropriate quantities .

 Access road and grounds condition upto discharge point should be safe and good enough for heavy
vehivles ( Transit Mixer Truck ) .
 Sufficient turning space should be provided for the transit mixer trucks to access and leave the
delievery poin .
 Distances , heights and clearences should be sufficient for moving the equipment . This points
directly affect the delivery cost of concrete .

Transit Mixer Truck are 2 types of holding capacity of concrete . 5m3 and 7m3 are two different sizes of
trucks .

PUMPING CONCRETE – Pumping is one of the efficient means of pouring concrete . In many
situations , such as in high rises buildings . Pumping is the only viabl option . At other times, the ease and
speed of pumping concrete makes it the most economical method of pouring concrete at sites . Company
charges aroun 200 Rs per/m3 . They use Pumping Concrete Machine / Vechicle . It reach earlier or before
reaching of concrete on sites .

TECHNICAL SERVICES -- They consult a qualified structural designer to determine the grade of
concrete required for your structure . They ensure that the RDC Concrete
technical team is informed about the correct grade of concrete along with other
relevant details ( specific contractual requirements or suggestions from the
structural designer ) .

Raw materials uses for making Concretes are :

FINE aggregate ( SAND ) is 1st thing uses in making of concrete (RMC) . Its comes from Damodar river .
Most common size of Fine aggregate uses in concrete is 20mm .

CEMENT is the 2nd thing which is uses in

making of concrete (RMC ). There are
various types of cement is available in
market . Company uses according to
requirements of customers . They get it
from various cement traders or companies .

FLY ASH or POND ASH is the 3rd thing which is uses in making of concrete
(RMC) . FLY ASH used for improve the work ability of concrete and POND
ASH used for increase the compressive strength of concrete .Its get from

Combustion of Pulverized coal and transported from combustion chamber by

exhaust gases . Its comes from Thermal Power Plant station, MEJIA .

COURSE aggreggate (Small pieces of Rocks) is the 4th things which is uses in
making of concrete (RMC) . They are also 2 types are 10mm or 20mm . Its
directly come from Rock or Stone MINES , after breaking or processing in
different sizes .

WATER is the 5th very important thing which make glue with cement a paste
that glues all of the aggregates , ash together . It will pumping from water
pump from various sources .

PROCESS of making Ready Mixed Concrete in plants are :--

 Aggregate and sand are kept in HOPPER through Backhoe loader .

 Water are directly pump into Water Weighing after measurment pour in Concrete Mixer . It kept
in WATER POOL .
 Cements are kept in biggest cylinder type container known as SILO .
 FLY and Pond ash are directly pumped from Ash container Truck through air compressor . Pond
ash directly pumped on weighing then pour in Concrete Mixer , were FLY ash are flews in air
during air compressor is processing .

Processing :
As we see Course aggregate (10mm and 20mm ) , Fine aggregate are pour in weighing bucket through
conveyer belt . At same time Cement are also pour in weighing hopper and Water are also pour in
weighing hopper, after measuring all Raw materials . Now, Course aggreagtes and Fine aggregate are
poured or sent in Concrete Mixer . Cement are also poured in concrete Mixer and Water are also poured in
Concrete Mixer . At this same time FLY ash and Pond ash both are directly pumped into the Concrete
Mixer through air compressor method both are mixed together from starting . During air compressor
processing FLY ash are flew in the air because they are light in weight , only POND ash are poured in
Concrete Mixture . Now everything is poured into the Concrete Mixer , it will mixed every thing in proper
way . Now concrete mixere poured this Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) into the Transit Mixer Trucks . This
whole process from starting to
end in Transit Mixer Trucks is
completed in 1 Minutes easily .
Its done in 1 minutes because
whole plant is Fully automated
and integrated Computering
Batching Plants . Concrete
retention time after pouring in
Transi Mixer Trucks is only 4
hours . after this time concrete
loosing its strength if not
poured or used in Construction sites .

In this RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. plants there are 50 fixed ( 40 males + 10 females ) employees are working
they are directly hired by RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. managments . Also there are 70 labours ( Males ) are
working in this plants . They are hired by labour contractors .

Testing of concretes sample before producing bulk amounts :-

Before producing Bulk amount of Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) they make samples of concrete in shape of
cube . there length ais 150*150 cm which goes under 2 differents types test . They make 6 cubes of same
samples 3 cubes are submerged in water for 7 days and 3 cubes are submerged for 28 days temperature
of water must be 27 degrees needed for the test .This temperature is important to ensure that the cubes
holds the maximum temperature . after that cubes are also testing in cube testing machine by put various
weight pressure on the concrete solid cubes .

 Raw materials are subject to striengent quality and quantity measures .

 Concrete is the subject to quality control throughout the manufacturing and delievery process .

varying the proportions/combinations of the cement , aggregates and mixtures .

Plant is totally automated and computerized . Concrete Batching plant supplies concrete mixes effectively
and efficiently . Which are designed in its well-equiped laboratories as per procedures to comply with
various provisions of Indian standards . RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. managments are continously monitiring the
whole plants inside or outside . Experienced logistics team works closely with ud to ensure thet concrete of
requisite is delievered on time in appropriate amount .

 Total operational capacity –

Batching Plant is producing Ready Mix Concrete 1m3 per/min . were it produces 60m3 per/hour . It
produces Concrete in various types of mixing Ratio of different materials . Plant total capacity is
1440m3 per/day . But they are not utilized total capacity .

 Capacity being utilized –

Batching plants capacity is not utilized in a Fixed Ratio or Quantiy . Plant is being utilized according
to Demand of Ready Mix Concrete by there customers . Every day they get total various quantity of
concret demand by there customers, then they utilized there production capacity of plants .

In this RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. Batching plants there are 50 Fixed ( 40 Males + 10 Females ) employees are
working . They are directly hired by RDC Concrete Managments . Also there are 70+ Laboures ( Males ) are
also workin for this plants or company . They are hired by Labour Contractors .

Recuritment of Management Trainee , Graduate Engineer Trainee , Diploma Engineer Trainees . All
employes undergo compulsory inductio training . In addition, campus hires undergo one year classroom
and on the job training controlled and monitered from Head office, a unique training system in Ready
Mixed Concrete Industry .They are the only Company wide E-Learning platform named DEEKSHS . For
future development of there employees they conducted assemments and development centers which are
sourced from INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS like Thomas International , DDI etc .There employees are
with various types of programmes which resulted high score in great work survey . It will help RDC

the RDC Concrete India Pvt Ltd. , Uniworld City, New Town, Rajarhat, KOLKATA, West Bengal 700156 .
Upon Reaching we were required to sign a register and then we were escorted to the outside of plant
where we had to wait . Then we all 40 students was escorted by an industry expert . we were first taken to
that part/area of plant were basic raw materials are kept or stored by the plant . which are used in making
or producing of Ready Mixed Concrete ( RMC ) . there various types of raw materials are kept Aggregates
are sprinkled by water which kept the clean for processing . Highwaa a type of largest truck bring all raw
materials for various place/Region of West Bengal .

Next part is HOOPER were 2 types of Course aggregate and fine aggregate are kept, were they are
weighted and sent to the mixtures. We go to place were FLY Ash container are kept and directly pumped
into the Mixer . Then we go to place were SILO is installed in which CEMENTS are installed and weighted
and sent to the the mixer .

Next , we goto the control room as we know whole plants are automated , were controlled by persons who
are sitting in controlled , near by there is a technical room were peoples are sitting are taking care of any
technical issues which is happened during production is going on.

Then our group are divided into 20 members, them we all are escorted to the person who are
working in SAMPLE making area of concrete , they will explain that before producing in bulk amount, they
will make samples of Concrete according to customer demand to check its quality , and strength . Then we
go to Concrete Mixer portions were everything is mixed and poured in to Transit Mixer Trucks .

After that they take all of us to quality control room, were quality of concrete or Strength of concrete are
checked by various types of test . they also the strength of concrete , and measure the weight of concrete .

Then take us to there hall for Question Answer Q/A session with their senior manager of that plant . who
will explain more things deeply . Entire process , Marketing , finance and working strategy . They also give
us 2 Brochures which explain much more things .

From this Industry visit we got a clear understanding about, the process of Ready Mixed Concrete ( RMC )
in plants .

NOTE :-- All the information which are mentioned in my Reports are not get
only from my Industry Visit . All the other information required for this report

Industrial visit gives me a lot of information about various aspects of production, marketing
as well as the operation of a company. The dissemination of knowledge by the support of
RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. organizations . Also give a clear scope to the transactional analysis of
the company. After conducting a visit, we found there is a bigger market for the Ready
Mixed Concrete ( RMC ) in concrete market in India .

 It also conclude that RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. is the first preference for any construction
company and customers etc.
 RDC Concrete Pvt Ltd. is dominates the volume dominated market due to its brand
equity and better production strategy.

After the completion of industrial visit we enhanced to know how an organisation work ,
and there coordination with each other . we try to relate the experience in the work with
knowledge learned in the institute

Here, we gained the experience & knowledge that can be used

for suitable job without delay after our studies. With experience, knowledge & and skills
acquired during our Industry Visit. We will be better prepaid to face corporate working
world in our future life .
