BILL OF QUANTITIES
Information for correct compiling of the bill of quantity
Your company must fill the spreadsheets provided that contain the details of the Bill of Quantities (BoQs) by site. Your company is required to keep the
soft copy of the original priced spreadsheet of the BoQs in excel format in your archive so that you can present it when the organization requests
during the later stages of the contractual process if your company is awarded the contract.
In filling the detailed BoQs, your firm is expected to separately price the BoQs as follows:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Organization would like to draw the attention of the Bidders on the following:
It is the Bidder’s responsibility to insert the correct rates against each item in the unit rate column of the Bills of Quantities. Omitted items or incorrectly
inserted rate shall be the sole responsibility of the Bidder.
This Additional Information shall be read in conjunction with the tender Drawings and Bills of Quantities, and it shall not be considered as exhaustive but
merely as highlighting certain points. These documents shall be taken as mutually explanatory of one another.
All units of measurement shall be based on the Metric System of weights and measurements except that other units are specifically mentioned for
standard products.
The metric terms and symbols occurring in the Contract Documents are based on the "Système International d'Unitées (S.I. System)":

Unless otherwise stated, description shall be deemed to include for all borehole flushing and cleaning; borehole casing and development, extraction of
existing pumps, pipe columns and accessories; supply and delivery of specified pump sets and accessories, including the earthworks as shown on
drawings, or required by the specifications in the Bill of Quantities.
The bidder shall satisfy itself as to the meaning of every item in the Bills of Quantities and rates inserted shall be deemed to cover all its contractual
obligations under the Contract and all items necessary for the proper construction, completion and maintenance of the Works.
Rates shall include but are not be limited to, all temporary work required and removing at completion and making good any surface disturbed.
N.B.: Upon signature of the contract, NO claim for additional payment will be allowed for any error or misunderstanding by the Bidder in this respect.
NOTE regarding arithmetical errors and discrepancies:
● If there is a discrepancy between the unit price and the total price that is obtained by multiplying the unit price and quantity, the unit price will
prevail and the total price will be corrected, unless in the opinion of evaluators, there is an obvious misplacement of the decimal point in the unit
price, in which case the total price as quoted will govern and the unit price will be corrected.
● If there is an error in a total corresponding to the addition or subtraction of subtotals, the subtotals will prevail, and the total will be corrected.
● In case of discrepancy between a word and figures, the amount in words will prevail, unless the amount expressed in words is related to an
arithmetic error, in which case the amount in figures will prevail subject to the note above.
