1. The original or a copy of the signed original of this permit and any other necessary import / export documentation pertaining to the shipment of
thing(s) must be provided for inspection at the first port of entry or prior to entry to a Canadian Food Inspection Agency Import Service Center.
2. The conditions in this permit can only be changed or amended by a CFIA inspector. Any change to the permit by an unauthorized person will render
the permit invalid.
3. All accompanying export documentation must be issued in either English or French.
4. The animal(s), germplasm or thing(s) described on this permit must be shipped by the most direct and appropriate route from the point of export to

the address of destination in Canada. Transshipment through another country requires written authorization from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
5. Shipments of animal products transported through the USA to Canada must be shipped in sealed metal shipping containers to be eligible to enter
Canada. The shipments must also meet the requirements of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection
Services (APHIS). Importers are responsible for contacting USDA APHIS to determine any further requirements for products transiting the US.
Certification/Inspection Requirements:
1) Prior to export the container must be sealed and the seal and container numbers must appear on the official veterinary export certificate. Only
containers bearing original intact seals may be allowed into Canada. If a container, while transiting in-bond, has been opened by US Customs officials,
the container must be resealed by an official US Customs seal. In order to be allowed into Canada, an official document issued by US Customs referring
to the official export certificate must accompany the shipment and state that the original seal as indicated in the official veterinary export certificate was
broken by US Customs and replaced under US customs supervision by a new seal # xxxxxx.
6. CERTIFICATION
7. The zoosanitary export certificate pertaining to the shipment must clearly describe the animal(s) or thing(s) and the region, country or zone of origin.
The zoosanitary export certificate must be issued and signed by a veterinary inspector of the official veterinary service of the country of origin.
8. Each shipment of fish or aquatic invertebrate meal imported under this permit must be accompanied by an ORIGINAL zoosanitary export certificate,
signed, dated, and linked to the shipment being imported, issued by an official veterinarian of the country of origin certifying that:
Certification/Inspection Requirements:
1) The fish or aquatic invertebrate meal covered by this export certificate and import permit #A (indicate import permit number) were produced at
(indicate name and address of the producer as identified in the import permit) and were exported to Canada from (indicate name and address of the
producer/exporter as identified in the import permit); AND
2) The producing establishment or vessel (enter name and address or home port) receives only whole fish, or whole aquatic invertebrate, or offal of the
same and fish industry trimmings and offal for processing, and no other animal products. The producing facility(ies) DOES NOT receive, store or
process any ruminants * and things derived from them and that the product has been prepared, processed, stored and otherwise handled in a manner to
avoid contamination with any ruminant tissues or things derived from them. [*Ruminant means an animal of the subfamily Bovinae and Caprinae and
includes: cattle, buffalo, bison, sheep, and goats and their exotics relatives. ]

The moisture content of the fish or aquatic invertebrate meal product is less than 10% (It is considered a dry product if the moisture content is less than
10%; this indicates that the product has been adequately processed to negate micro organisms of concern); AND

9. Shipments must be accompanied by export documentation stating the product has been adequately processed.
Certification/Inspection Requirements:
1) A statement from the renderer is required for non prohibited material which states the name and address of the rendering plant that produced the
product, the date of production (range), the moisture content is less than 10%, and that the plant does not handle prohibited material.
10. If a product containing prohibited material is on the same premises or in the same conveyance as a product that does not contain prohibited material
or animal food for ruminants, procedures for preventing the mixing or contamination must be in place and records must be maintained to establish that
the procedures were followed.
11. The imported product does not contain any PROHIBITED MATERIAL as defined by Section 162 of the Health of Animals Regulations. This product
may be used in the manufacture of feed for ruminant.
12. If an antioxidant/preservative is used in the meal, the common name or names of the antioxidant/preservative shall be indicated on the imported
meal's label.
If the meal is sold and/or used in livestock feeds, all antioxidants/preservatives must be approved for use in livestock feeds either as single ingredients
in Schedule IV of the Canadian Feeds Regulations, or as registered products under the Canadian Feeds Regulations
13. PROOF OF EXEMPTION - FEED
Single ingredient feeds listed in Schedule IV or Schedule V Part I, Part I of the Feeds Regulations are exempt from feed registration when labelled
according to the description. The ingredient name and number from Schedule IV, Part I or Schedule V Part I should be referenced on appropriate
documentation (i.e. Canada Customs Invoice or Commercial Invoice)
NOTE : This does not apply to Bovidae* derived ingredients (other than milk, milk by-products and protein free tallow).
* Bovidae includes: cattle, sheep, goats, bison and buffalo

14. IMPORTER'S OBLIGATIONS
15. Records of the name and address of any place to which the imported product is sold or distributed must be maintained for ten (10) years following
importation. These records must be made available for inspection by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency upon request.
Every person who imports or has the possession, care or control of any product of a rendering plant shall keep a record of (a) the name and address of the
rendering plant and the date of production of the product; (b) the name and address of the exporter; (c) the name and quantity of, and any other
information that is sufficient to identify, the product; (d) the name and address of any person to whom any product is distributed or sold and the
information referred to in paragraph (c) with respect to that product; and (e) whether or not the product is, or contains any, prohibited material.
16. The importer is responsible for all costs incurred or associated with any testing or treatment of the animal(s) or thing(s) that may be required under
the import permit or under the authority of the Health of Animals Act or the Health of Animals Regulations. The importer shall pay all fees for services
required in respect of the importation under the National Animal Health Program Cost Recovery Fees Regulations in place at the time of importation.
17. Consideration of an application necessary for issuance of a permit to import the described animal or thing is subject to Class 1 fees.
18. Failure to comply with the conditions contained in this permit or with the provisions of the Health of Animals Act and Regulations may result in the
cancellation of this permit and will result in the forfeiture to the Crown of the animal(s) or thing(s) imported or in the removal of the animal(s) or
thing(s) from Canada, all without compensation to, and at the expense of the importer. No person shall import any animal(s) or thing(s) into Canada
from any country unless the animal(s) or thing(s) meet the conditions that are shown on the export certificate issued by the exporting country. The
importer(s) are responsible for the animal(s) or thing(s) imported, their health, fitness, soundness, freedom from disease, active or latent and genetic or
other defects. Where the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) carries out tests and takes precautions when animal(s) or thing(s) are imported into
Canada to reduce the risk of the introduction and spread of disease in Canada, such tests and precautions do not constitute and are not a warranty,
guarantee, assurance, undertaking or anything similar that the animals imported are healthy, fit, sound, free from disease, active or latent or genetic or
other defects and such tests and precautions do not relieve or lessen the importer's responsibility as set out above. The importer, his heirs, executors,
successors and assigns release and discharges His Majesty the King in right of Canada and the CFIA of and from all claims and demands, damages,
actions or causes of action arising or to arise by reason of the importation of the animals and agrees to indemnify and save harmless His Majesty the
King in right of Canada and the CFIA from and against all actions, damages, claims and demands which may be brought in respect of or arising out of
the importation of such animal(s) or thing(s), their health, fitness, soundness, freedom or otherwise from disease, active or latent, genetic or other
defects.
