We focus on holistic About SCMS NOIDA


growth of the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, NOIDA, a constituent of Symbiosis International
students by (Deemed University), Pune began its operations in December 2010. Based in the National
imparting quality Capital Region, we impart quality management education at the undergraduate level. SCMS
NOIDA has grown tremendously from only 23 in 2010 students to over 1000 students now. With
education through
the focus on holistic growth of the students, we have reached the milestone of being rated
experiential amongst the best BBA colleges in Delhi National Capital Region. In the quest for excellence, the
learning programme offers a well-designed curriculum which is well complemented by internships that
meets the industry requirements. The adoption of innovative teaching pedagogy makes the
learning experiential and application based.

About the Parent Organization


Symbiosis International (Deemed University), has a motto of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam", which
means "World is one Family". Symbiosis is a family of academic Institutions imparting quality
education for over 50 years. It is host to over 34,000 Indian and International students on campus.

The Choice
We offer BBA, a Four-Year undergraduate programme of 160 credits, wherein you get an
Based Credit opportunity to select the courses of your interest across various specializations. The programme

The FYUG programme based on NEP is aimed at holistic development of the students. The courses
are offered in various baskets to fulfil for the overall development of the students. The skill-based
courses, the multidisciplinary courses, the ability enhancement courses, value added courses &
vocational courses are offered right from the beginning. Apart from this the students choose the
specialization from the first semester from the five streams offered: Marketing management, Financial
management, Human resource management, International Business & Business Analytics. This helps

4. To assist students in learning and experiencing the real-time corporate culture and business
practices by offering summer internship opportunities in reputable companies representing
various industries.

The Corporate Affairs Cell aims to provide students with training in different areas by organizing
various webinars to help them get trained and better understand the corporate world's different aspects.
The webinars were on different corporate and industry-related topics such as resume building, and
corporate readiness series.
This year, the Corporate Affairs Cell was successful in recruiting the following firms: Genpact, S&P
Global, Wunderman Thompson Commerce (a subsidiary of the WPP group), Zomato, Decathlon,
Larsen and Toubro, ICICI Securities, and other similar businesses. Both placements and summer
internships are available to students through these organizations. The specifics of the placements,
including the ultimate placement and SIP in these businesses, are presented in the table below. These
organizations have offered both placements and summer internships to the students. The final
placement and the SIP in these companies are encouraging, the details of the placements are shared in
the table below.

Equip the student The Entrepreneurship Development Cell is a student body at Symbiosis Centre for
Management Studies, Noida aiming to encourage and assist budding entrepreneurs. EDC

perform peer learning. The cell is determined to help budding and aspiring entrepreneurs to launch
outstandingly and and grow their ideas into start-ups by creating a conducive environment. As an endeavor to
contribute to an take every budding entrepreneur forward, the cell aims to develop the support structure
interconnected, needed to embark upon the journey towards the unknown and unexplored zones of
challenging world entrepreneurship.

Objectives:

● To act as an institutional mechanism for the facilitation of new ideas for the creation of
sustainable solutions for society.
● To develop an entrepreneurial mindset by educating, training, and mentoring in
entrepreneurship.

● To promote the culture of entrepreneurship and the acceptance of environmental challenges.


● To collaborate with the industry, R&D institutions, experts, and other institutions that are
engaged in the promotion of entrepreneurship through communities, NGOs,
Entrepreneurship Development Cell conduct various to promote and develop an entrepreneurial
mindset among the students.

1. Guest lectures: It is always beneficial for aspiring entrepreneurs to interact with experts
and gain insights into the real world. Successful entrepreneurs are invited by EDC to discuss
their experiences and difficulties along the way. Topics include product development,
marketing and attracting investors.

2. B-Plan Competitions: To encourage students to actively participate in similar


competitions at various universities, the cell organizes business plan competitions. These
competitions enable the participants to discover their skills, plans and strategies required to
start a business.

3. Start-Up Case Study Challenge: Many case study competitions are organized where a
business case problem is presented to stimulate one's intellect and hone one's business
acumen.

Glimpse of some of the activities conducted by the E Cell SCMS NOIDA


1. Webinar 1: After the resumption of offline classes, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell
of Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Noida held its first offline event. Rajiv Tulpule,
CEO of Retco Cable Corporation and an entrepreneur, writer, and teacher, graced the event
with his presence.

2. Webinar 2: Mr. Arjun Panchal, the founder of Papazata and author of the book 'What
Happens in America Startup Mentor' marked his magnanimous presence at the event and
enlightened the students with his exceptional business acumen. Mr. Panchal began by
highlighting how to identify the target audience for both B2B and B2C businesses. He gave
certain equations for maximum customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness.

3. Webinar 3: This webinar was hosted by Aaysha Agrawal, who handled the Q&A session
between Mr. Panchal and the [Link] also introduced the Minimum Viable Product,
pilot testing method and traction strategies for the future prospects of the company.

Glimpse of some of the project

1. Project Leafafaa:
Project Leafafaa is a project initiated by the students of Entrepreneurship Development Cell,
SCMS- NOIDA Leafafaa aims to provide our customers with a wide range of customizable paper
bags. These can be specially made for various occasions, brand collaborations and much more.

Adding to the already environmentally friendly cycle, our bags are made from recycled or eco-
friendly paper, which is not only made from recycled material but is also highly biodegradable,
helping the seeds to grow. The paper bag will be available in several different sizes and
dimensions to meet the needs of a wide range of customers and can be used by retailers for
packaging purposes.

● Inauguration: To symbolize the start of the project, The cell organized the launch event. This
event was graced by Director of SCMS, Noida Sir, Dr. K.P. Venugopala Rao, Deputy Director,
Dr. Nidhi Phutela, Area Chair Marketing, Dr. Priya Grover, Assistant Professor, Dr. Kriti Priya
and Dr. Shinu Vig.
● Tie Global Competition: Students represented ED Cell, SCMS-NOIDA in the TIE Global
Competition with the project Leafataa. The students were selected for the Global Cohort and
studied with teams from 17 nations around the world.
● Enactus Nationals: The team participated in the Enactus National Competition

2. Project Tarutra:

To enter into the social entrepreneurship space, the cell launched "Project Tarutra - Unearth the life
within you". It focused on uplifting a community of blacksmiths and potters known as 'Gada' and we
sought to provide them with a sustainable market and a decent income by acting as an intermediary
between them and our customers.
The cell facilitated all qualitative, quantitative, transportation and packaging services to provide our
clients with superior quality products at minimum prices and maximum blessings.

3. Project Aadhwan:

As this global pandemic affected more and more lives and the environment through waste, the cell
brought project "Aadhwan Skill, Stich, Sustain" through which students tried to manage waste using
4Rs and this aimed to work for the upliftment of tailors and home helps. The business model was based
on upcycling and recycling of fabric waste generated by the textile industry to develop sustainable
fashion using eco -friendly methods.

4. House on fire:
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell successfully hosted its first offline event, ‘House On Fire.’
This remarkable event provided participants with an unforgettable opportunity to demonstrate their
problem-solving skills and unleash their entrepreneurial potential.
The event commenced with an exhilarating quiz on Day 1, where participants were challenged to
showcase their knowledge and advance in the competition. With an impressive turnout of 169
participants, their quiz responses were meticulously recorded for further evaluation.

The top 10 finalists faced a daunting situation and were tasked with presenting their groundbreaking
startup ideas to overcome the given predicament. This round served as a litmus test for their ability
to thrive under pressure and exhibit visionary leadership.
The event was graced by distinguished judges: Dr Prashant Yadav, Dr Praveen Shrivastava, and Mr
Vikrant Vikram. Their profound insights and expertise added immense value to the event, ensuring a
comprehensive evaluation of the participants' ideas.

5. Symudhyam:
The Cell, in collaboration with QIC, proudly presented the inaugural edition of "Symudhyam." This
prestigious annual event, hosted by SCMS NOIDA, revolved around the theme of "Sustainable Social
Entrepreneurship: Shared Future." The event, held under the auspices of Y-20, aimed to emphasize
the importance of social entrepreneurship in India.
"Symudhyam" comprised two significant components: a thought-provoking panel discussion and a
dynamic Sustainable Business Pitch Competition. Additionally, as part of its social initiative, SCMS
NOIDA undertook the planting of 500 trees in Ambedkar Park, Ghaziabad.

Glimpse of International Initiatives at SCMS NOIDA


Semester Abroad/Summer School Program

SCMS, Noida, offers students an exclusive opportunity to study for an entire semester at our partner colleges, with
recognition shared between the institutions. Additionally, students can participate in summer schools at international
universities during the spring or summer. These programs enable students to interact with peers from diverse cultural
backgrounds and engage in practical teamwork, including enjoyable activities like cultural programs.

International Institute Social Responsibility Project with Florida InternationalUniversity, USA

The International Cell, along with ISR Club at SCMS NOIDA, collaborated with Florida International University to help the
Bandhwari women curate products which will help make their lives better. The students of SCMS and FIU visited Bandhwari
village to help by contributing their services at the centre and school, where they taught the children and interacted with them.
It was a successful event which did not only help the women but also instilled a sense of responsibility among students

Florida International University visit to SCMS Noida
International Cell at SCMS, NOIDA, organised a cultural evening to welcome students and dignitaries from FIU
along with the women from Bandhwari village to showcase the beauty of Indian culture via various performances
by the Performing Arts Club. The Officiating Director, Dr Nidhi Phutela, briefed them about the project ‘Sahyog’
in collaboration with Florida International University. Under this one-week project, they worked with the women
of Bandhwari and helped them grow their resources.

Collaborative Virtual Industry-Based Project with Rutgers Business School, USA


The International Cell at SCMS, NOIDA, organised a collaborative international and industry-based virtual project
in partnership with Rutgers Business School, New Jersey, and SAP Labs India Pvt. Ltd. This project aimed to bring
together students from different culturalbackgrounds to devise solutions for enhancing SAP Labs' software service
experiences. This proved to be an enriching experience for everyone. The synergy and communication among the
meritorious students from both institutes was a milestone for this one-of-a-kind project.

Global Talk Series


The International Cell offers the Global Talk Series to support students of SCMS NOIDA in the areas of Industry 4.0
with the advantage of internationalisation. This provides students with valuable benefits such as exposure to global
perspectives, insights from industry experts, networking opportunities, and a platform to foster their knowledge,

Workshop on “Business applications of Industry 4.0


QIC and International Cell at SCMS, NOIDA organised a “Business Applications of Industry 4.0” workshop. The eminent
resource person for the workshop was Mr Himanshu Agrawal. He explained the concept of Industry 4.0 using an example
of tech Mahindra. The secondpart of the workshop was a fun activity that helped the students better understand the concept of
Industry 4.0. The zeal among the students was immensely high, and the workshop turned out to be genuinely knowledgeable.

Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Course


SCMS, NOIDA offers Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses, providing virtual collaborations with global
partners. These courses promote cross-cultural understanding and intercultural competencies through interactive online
exchanges.
Recently, SCMS NOIDA conducted COIL courses with Florida International University (FIU) and Amsterdam University of
Applied Sciences (AUAS). The COIL course with FIU focused on the role of cross-cultural analysis in global advertising,
fostering a global outlook and cultural sensitivity. On the other hand, the COIL course with AUAS centred around innovative
approaches for building a sustainable society.

The drive was initiated on the occasion of the birth anniversary

grains etc which was further handed over to NGOs - Goonj ( for
Clothes Donation) and Robinhood Army (for Dry grains).

A Campaign for Green Diwali by organizing a poster-making
competition was organized so as to create awareness about
the harmful impact of burning crackers on Deepavali which
pollutes the environment and to promote eco-friendly
Diwali to maintain the sustainability of our environment and
protect our planet.

 Lighting the candle of happiness for the socially marginalized : Distributing Diwali
hampers among the underprivileged. This drive was a community outreach programme in
collaboration with the NGO Warriors without Cause on the occasion of Diwali.

Blood donation drive was organized in

This workshop was aimed at equipping


students with the skills and tools to manage
stress and anxiety in their daily lives, Ms.
Anamika Yaduvanshi, a renowned life coach
and corporate trainer was invited as a guest
speaker for the workshop.

 Sahyog Project: women empowerment-


This initiative was taken to implement a women empowerment project in Bandhwari Village,
Gurugram in collaboration with Florida International University, USA. As a part of the project, the
students were engaged with the women at the Incentive Foundation Centre to make them
understand the global market.

 Dog Shelter Drive:


Paws for a Cause-Dogs were made to were
reflector bands in order to ensure road safety in
collaboration with NGO DAWGSS. There was
immense enthusiasm and zest among the members
while performing various tasks such as making the
dogs wear the reflector bands and feeding the dogs
the right quantity of food.

Specially Abled Children-
The event marked a major milestone in our
efforts to promote inclusion and support for
all children, regardless of their abilities. A
total of 15 participants from organizations
like Ek Koshish and Parivartan put on a
spectacular display of their talents, leaving
everyone in the audience in awe of their
abilities.
 Organ Donation Drive:
This event was conducted under the youth outreach
program in which all the volunteers were between
the age group of 18-20 and had the vision to make
people aware of the noble cause of organ donation.
I Gift Life was the NGO partner for this event.

 Zero waste initiative: Saree Donation Drive-


In view of sensitizing people towards the 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) principle, ISR Cell
took up an initiative for Saree Donation Drive wherein old sarees will be reused for making
sustainable products. Donated sarees are handed over to “Incentive Foundation”-an NGO to
support a group of young and enthusiastic village women in making sustainable/eco-friendly
products i.e. jewellery bags, passport holders, yoga bag, laptop sleeves, sling bags, sunglass
covers etc.

ISR focuses on a large spectrum of services encouraging students to come together and create an
open space of equality and fairness for one and all. The club provides students of Symbiosis with
endless opportunities to play their role of being socially responsible.

perspectives based on creativity and imagination.

SYMCHARCHA (An Annual Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition)


SYMVAAD – The debating society of SCMS NOIDA organizes the grand Annual Inter-Collegiate

academics, emotional Mentoring is the process of supporting and encouraging people to manage their own
learning so that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their
or health-related performance, and become the people they want to be. We at Symbiosis Centre for
issues. Management Studies, NOIDA, practice a mentoring process that is regulated through our
in-house Mentoring Cell. The cell intends to help students deal with any academic,
emotional, or health-related challenges they might be facing. To assist students and deal
with such issues on a day-to-day basis, dedicated Mentor-Mentee programmes have been
designed for their overall well-being. The main aim of the Mentoring Cell is to ensure that
the performance of students is up to par through mutual support and a congenial learning
environment. It attempts to generate interest in academics and other institutional activities
among students. Students are assigned to their mentors (teaching faculty) if they need any
guidance or assistance. Mentors provide fair and honest feedback to encourage students to
improve their performance. The Mentoring Cell focuses on the overall holistic development
of students.

Various events were held by the Mentoring Cell in 2022-2023.


Below is a brief overview of their success

1. ICE-BREAKING SESSIONS
The first ice-breaking session of 2022 was conducted on September 23 in offline mode. The session
titled “CoBuild 2.0: Teamwork is the Key” was the second installment that focused on team-building
exercises. Students were shuffled into different groups for every activity. This helped them gain
experience in not only team building but also team participation and team leading. Games like Friendly
Feud, brain teasers, and guess the object were played. The first year brought their youthful exuberance
to the table, which made the event highly successful.

2. WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY


The Mentoring Cell celebrated World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2022, on the college campus.
This was in collaboration with the Literary Club and the last event before the new recruits were selected.
As a part of the celebration, we spread awareness about mental health across the campus by making a
board where people could write heartfelt messages for others to read. The members of both the cell and
club were divided into teams and tasked with going to different classes and playing small games as a
part of stress-busting and giving them much-needed breaks from their busy schedules. In the end, it was
a great day, enjoyed by all.

3. UNWIND THE MIND: STRESS BUSTING 101


Unwinding the Mind was conducted on November 28, 2022, in offline mode. This was a very special
workshop for the Mentoring Cell for three main reasons. Firstly, it was the first full offline workshop
conducted by the cell after the pandemic; Secondly, it was the first workshop or event with the
enthusiasm of the new recruits; and thirdly, it was the return of Saveera Bahl, who spoke on a similar
topic a year prior as a part of the VAC course and was so impressed by the college that she wanted to
come again. As this was the first workshop of the year, we saw enthusiasm from not only the new
members but also the new students, who filled the workshop with their curiosity and passion to learn.

4. ASK. LISTEN. RESPEECT.


This workshop was held at the dawn of the new year on 31st January 2023. This delves into the topics
concerned with Sexual Harassment and learning to respect others. The main objective was to raise
awareness about the issue and educate students about preventing and addressing sexual harassment in
their lives. The event aimed to create a safe and inclusive environment on campus by promoting a culture
of respect, consent, and support. A knowledgeable expert on the topic of sexual harassment delivered a
compelling keynote presentation, sharing insightful information on the various aspects of sexual
harassment, its impact on individuals and communities, and ways to prevent and respond to such
incidents.

5. KINDNESS WEEK
The Mentoring Cell celebrated kindness week in the second week of February. The work for the week
was divided into 3 days. On the first day the members of the cell went around college and complimented
students. The main objective of this was to not only to spread kindness but also encourage others to do
the same. On the second day the members of the cell made a soft board on which other students can write
kind compliments for their friends. The third say being a Sunday, we could not hold any offline game or
activity so we made a bingo gmate that were played by various students online.

6. CARVE A NICHE: CHOOSE YOUR SPECIALISATION


Since the inception of the Mentoring Cell, every year the first-year students gain industry-relevant
insights into the fields of international business, finance, marketing, business analytics, and human
resources from industry pioneers and leaders across the country. They share experiences, expectations,
and knowledge with students as they decide which subjects they will include in their major and minor.
Carve a Niche sessions are always successful as student participation and inquisitiveness are high. By
the end of the session, the students are able to identify a plethora of jobs and opportunities to make the
right decision in their lives. This results in increased awareness among students, too.

7. WORKSHOP ON CYBERBULLYING
A workshop on cyberbullying was conducted on April 11, 2023. This was the last workshop of
the year. Though the participation was not very high, the quality of the students was great. There
were many new things to learn about cyberbullying. It was a very informative workshop.

8. ALLOTMENT OF MENTORS
The Mentoring Cell's core function is to provide mentorship to students. Mentorship can take the
form of personal or academic matters. Students can reach out to their assigned mentors via mail
or visit them during college hours.

9. EMAILS
The Mentoring Cell sends inspirational and motivational quotes to students. It sends daily
motivational stories, poems, quotes, and messages to students’ email addresses, inspiring them
and helping them to come up with real-life problems. The emails were on topics like mental
health, motivational quotes, life lessons, etc.

State of art SCMS NOIDA is located amidst the IT and knowledge hub. It is just a stone’s throw away from
infrastructure the airport. The Institute has a sprawling campus at NOIDA having easy connectivity to all the
provided at our major cities. The Institute is Wi-Fi enabled with advanced/ sophisticated infrastructure. The
classrooms are spacious, air-conditioned and equipped with audio-visual aids. It is equipped with
campus seminar hall, conference hall, library and reading room, computer laboratory, auditorium,
cafeteria, fully equipped gymnasium and place for outdoor / indoor games. SCMS NOIDA is a
place where progressive management thoughts evolve and practices the pedagogy of experiential
learning.

Knowledge Resource Centre


Knowledge Resource Centre at SCMS NOIDA possesses a vast collection of learning resource
materials like books, periodicals, journals, e-databases from all areas of management. The
library, with its resources and innovative information services, fills an essential requisite in the
intellectual pursuits for our students, faculty and research scholars. The library is fully automated
using KOHA integrated library management software. Through the Online Public Access
Catalogue (OPAC), e-resources and other reading materials can be accessed anywhere and

We also provide you the book bank facility. Every year an extensive collection of textbooks is
added to the existing book bank of the library.

Computer Lab
SCMS NOIDA has two computer labs with total capacity of 140 systems. The labs are equipped
with internet connectivity, LCD projector, scanner cum printer and power backup support. Users
are expected to abide by the guidelines for acceptable use of technological resources for learning,
assessments, knowledge dissemination and official communication. You are advised to refrain
from using these resources for any purpose other than academics.

You are required to go through following points while using the IT resources:

 Net connectivity in the computer lab for e-mailing, chatting, browsing or downloading for
personal use is prohibited.
 Activities that violate the copyright and other IP contracts by unauthorized access and use
of resources must be avoided.
 Use the resources in the lab in such way so that no damage is caused.
 Refrain from moving, attaching, detaching the hardware equipment (printer, cable,
monitor, mouse, etc.) or carry any lab’s belongings outside of the lab.
 Abstain from sending any material that is likely to be offensive or objectionable to
recipients.
 Refrain from tampering any audio-visual equipment in the lab including the classroom /
convention hall

Medical Facilities at Symbiosis Centre for Health Care (SCHC)


SCHC is an in-house Health Care Centre that provides medical facilities to the staff and students
of the Institute. The SCHC has a team of specialized doctors who conduct the (compulsory)
annual check-up. If required, you will be provided with primary medical care at the medical center
in the college premise by the medical officer of SCHC. Health awareness is also conducted by
organizing seminars & health education workshops. Each student is insured under the Medical claim
and Traffic Accident policy. A copy of the policy document is available with the Registrar/Office
Superintendent

Recreational and Wellness Facility


The campus has a state-of-the-art gymnasium equipped with a plethora of training equipment,
an aerobics hall, yoga facility to promote the physical and mental well-being of the students
under the able guidance of a fitness instructor.

Cafeteria and Mess

A multi-cuisine cafeteria, a Nescafe canteen, and a mess cater to the eating requirements of
students. The diversity of food available is good enough to satisfy the appetite of students coming
from diverse cultures. The Canteen serves healthy and hygienic food.

Hostel
SCMS NOIDA provides a hostel facility for female students. The hostel has been planned to
meet your requirements and make your stay comfortable to provide a home away from home.

Parking
The Campus has multi-level parking facility for students and staff, which is well maintained and
manned by security guards throughout the day. Vehicles without vehicle pass are not permitted
to enter the campus.

The Seminar Hall equipped with all modern technical aids for guest lectures, screening of films,
presentations, and workshops etc.

Auditorium
The world class auditorium features high-definition screen with LED display, in-built audio
system, high-end speakers and special sound system, making it one of a kind facility, capable of
enhancing every performance. An opulent seating capacity of 480 people, the auditorium is used
for various activities and celebrations like Induction Day, Republic Day, Independence Day,
Farewell Functions and other Cultural Functions.

Student Interaction Lounge


The student interaction lounge is not only a place where students freely interact or relax but also
houses discussions, brainstorming sessions, and informal get-togethers.

Examination helps you to understand the learning form the programme. Following points are to be
noted regarding examination system:
 The examinations at SCMS NOIDA include both continuous assessments and term-end
evaluation.
 Continuous internal evaluations are continuous in nature and conducted throughout the
term.
 Term-end or External Examination is conducted at the end of every semester.
 The grading will be based on the relative performance of the students in the class.
 If you fail in continuous / term-end examination of a course, you shall appear in the next
examination season in the form of backlog.
 Certificate of Merit for best academic performance in the programme is awarded every
year to the academic topper completing each degree programme and eligible for award
of degree at the convocation of that year.
 You are expected to meet the attendance eligibility criteria for the term end examination
which are as follows:
o Minimum 75% attendance in aggregate is mandatory for all the students to be
eligible to appear for the external examination of all courses of the term.
o If your aggregate attendance is below 75% then you will be granted (TNG) and
thus will not be granted the permission to appear for the term- end examination.
Further, if your attendance is below 75% in a particular course then the you will
be awarded Course Not Granted (CNG) and thus will not be granted the
permission to appear for the examination of the respective course.

Allowed to Keep Terms (ATKT)


The following are the rules of ATKT.
 You cannot appear for Semester-5 term end exams if you have a CGPA less than 4.00
up to Semester-2 irrespective of number of backlogs in Semester – I.
 You cannot appear for Semester-6 term end exams if you have a CGPA less than 4.00
up to Semester-3 irrespective of number of backlogs up to Semester – II.

Standard of Passing and Award of Degree


 The overall evaluation will be out of 10 Grade Points (GP).
 For all courses, students are required to pass both internal and external examination
separately with a minimum Grade Point of 4 corresponding to Grade P.
 Students securing less than 40% absolute marks in each head of passing will be
declared FAIL.
 The University awards a Degree to the student who has achieved a minimum CGPA of
4 out of maximum of 10 CGPA for the programme.
 Bachelor of Business Administration BBA Degree will be awarded at the end of semester
VI examination by taking into consideration the performance of all semester
examinations.

This code of conduct is drawn in line with Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune

Identity Card
The University urges you to understand the spirit of donning an identity card as it has a number
of implications, like:
 To simplify student and visitor identification & security
 The pride of belonging to a premier institute.
We will issue an identity card and you are expected to carry it on the campus. In case, it is lost,
you should immediately report to the Admin Officer and get a new one issued.

Attendance
 You are expected to attend all lectures/ sessions and academic activities for your
betterment. It is mandatory for every student to have at least 75% attendance in class,
virtually or in- person (as the case may be).
 Attendance for Guest lectures, Workshops and Seminars is mandatory.
 In case the prescribed minimum attendance is not fulfilled, you will not be eligible to
appear for the examination and shall automatically be categorized under TERM NOT
GRANTED (TNG) or COURSE NOT GRANTED (CNG). No requests for relaxation in
this criterion will be entertained.
 You are expected to monitor your attendance on a daily/weekly basis on the Learning
Management System (LMS) portal. No separate communication will be sent on the
shortfall of attendance.

Dress Code
As per the guidelines of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, your dress should
befit the institute and reflect the stature and the class of Symbiosis. Institute uniform is to be
followed on all working days.

Till such time as the uniform is issued, students are expected to wear business formals. It is further
clarified that formals will include formal shoes. Sports shoes and slippers are not permitted.
For Girl Students, formals include the above. Indian formals are permitted. All must ensure that
they are decently dressed.
Students not adhering to above will not be allowed to attend classes and disciplinary action will be
taken against them.

Discipline
Any act of indiscipline/insubordination or misbehavior by any student, faculty member and
administrative staff will attract penalties / punishment, a few instances of indiscipline are listed
below (not exhaustive)
 Loud/ impolite talk/ use of un-parliamentary language which offends the listener
 Damaging the campus property due to negligence/lack of care
 Instigating or abetting collective insubordination including mass bunking
 Misbehavior with faculty, staff and fellow students
 Inviting any person/ group to address the students of the college, without prior
writtenpermission of authorities
 Consumption or possession of alcohol / drugs and being under their influence while on
campus or at functions
 Having food or chewing gum in classrooms, computer labs, library and office area
 Misrepresentation of facts for getting admission at the Institute
 Theft, gambling, sexual harassment, physical fights / bouts with each other, smoking on
Symbiosis campus, indecent behavior in public places
Any other offence not included in this list will be dealt with on a case to case basis. Misconduct

No association or society shall be formed by the students without the approval of the concerned
authority.

Communication to students
 You will be communicated about the class schedule via official email/ LMS and
messages displayed on the notice board. It is important that you keep yourself well-
informed regarding any changes in timetable and other announcements. It is your
responsibility to be up-to-date with all the communication made from time to time.

 Official email id should be used only for academic and official purposes. It should not be
used for any kind of social communication. Any malicious communication sent to or from
the official email id will be considered as misuse of the institute’s property and the
student’s college mail-id will be suspended with immediate effect.

 You are bound by all the rules and regulations of SIU.
 All disputes pertaining to sale of prospectus, conduct of examinations and admission to
the Centre/institute are subject to the jurisdiction of Pune, Maharashtra only.

Grievance Committee
The University has formed the Grievance Committee to address the grievances of students, if
any. You may approach the administrative officer with the grievance, which will be examined
byappropriate authorities and addressed in twenty days from the date of receiving the grievance.

Anti-Ragging Committee
Ragging is totally prohibited in Symbiosis International University and in its Constituent Institutes.
Anyone found guilty of ragging and / or abetting ragging whether actively or passively, or being
a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with UGC
Regulations 2009 as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being in force.
