Print out and show them the character strength spotting checklist
that they’ll be using.

As they start to colour their glasses in, set up the activity as follows:

We’ll be exploring what strengths we can spot today/this morn

ing (decide how long you want the activity to last).

We’ll do this by watching other people, in real life, on TV or in

stories, and noticing our own strengths.

Print out and show them the appropriate special character

strength spotting checklist that they’ll use.

Have your child walk around the house or classroom, watch TV,
or look at storybooks and notice which strengths they can see
being used.

They’ll use their character strengths checklist with them to tick

things off as they see them.

Each time you notice a new strength take some time to explain it
and ask your child for other examples of this strength. This is all
about embedding their understanding of the strengths.

After you’ve found 1 or 2 examples of each strength ask your

child to share what strengths they saw again.

Activity 3: Easter Goal Maze

You will need:

A printer

Paper

A pen or pencil

Steps:

Your aim is to help Fred get through the maze to find his carrot!

Firstly, print out your Easter Maze.

To do this, think about a goal you have. There is no goal too big or
too small!

Now, write this on the carrot at the end of the maze.

Next, think about 3 things you can do to reach your end goal.

And then, write this on each of the Easter eggs throughout the maze.

Each time you complete one of the steps to help you reach your goal,
move to the next Easter egg in the maze.

Until you finally reach the carrot!

You can then trace your pen through the completed maze to help
Fred find his carrot!

Activity 3: Example

Things to think about when setting your goal...

What is your goal - what will success look like?

What actions do I need to take to achieve it ?

What help might you need to achieve it ?

Think about the people or other resources you could use to help you.

Remember, it is always ok to ask for help if you are struggling to set

your goal!
