and motor pulleys to check deflection. The correct deflection is 1/8in
FAN MOTOR LUBRICATION (3.2mm). See below figure.
Fan motor supplied with unit is permanently lubricated and requires no
further lubrication.

FAN SHAFT BEARINGS

Bearings used are deep groove ball bearing type sealed at both sides.
The bearings are self-aligning and are mounted in rubber housing.

CENTERING FAN WHEEL

If fan and fan shaft assembly are not properly centered, blades may
scrape against scroll or may create an objectionable whistling noise. It
may be necessary to adjust individual fan wheels or move the entire fan
shaft.
If complete belt replacement is required during servicing, loosen the
motor plate mounting bolts. Move the motor/plate assembly towards the
FAN SHAFT POSITION ADJUSTMENT fan pullet and pull the belt(s) off the pulleys. Reverse the procedure with
new bolt and readjust deflection.
Loosen setscrew or locking collar of each fan shaft bearing. Slide shaft
into correct position and replace locking collar (see below figure). To lace
locking collar, push collar up against inner face of the bearing. Turn collar

motor with high power or current. This is considered an
electrical/mechanical reduced voltage starter. During start-up, connecting
the motor in a Wye-Delta configuration will reduce the line current of the
UNBALANCED 3-PHASE SUPPLY VOLTAGE
motor by a factor of 33%..
Never operate a motor where a phase imbalance in supply voltage is
greater than 2%. Use the following formula to determine to percentage of
voltage imbalance. Below are the components that can be seen in a wye-delta starter
controller box.

% Voltage Imbalance
For 7.5HP Fan Motor
= max. voltage deviation from ave. voltage x 100
1 pc 50A 3P Circuit Breaker
average voltage
3 pcs 220V coil Magnetic Contactor
1 pc Thermal Overload Relay (9 – 13 amps)

Example: 1 pc Wye Delta Timer

Supply Voltage: 230-3-60 1 pc 6A 2P Control Circuit Breaker
2 pcs Push Button
Voltage Measurement: 2 pcs Pilot Light Indicator
Phase A-B = 226 1 pc HOA Selector Switch
Phase B-C = 233
Phase C-A = 228 This components must be completely wired and assembled in IP10 rated
powder coated enclosure. This assembly will be installed outside of the
unit.
Average Voltage = 226 + 233 + 228
3
WYE-DELTA STARTER CONTROL SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM
Average Voltage = 229

Determine maximum deviation from average voltage.

(AB) 229 – 226 = 3
(BC) 233 – 229 = 4
(CA) 229 – 228 = 1
Maximum deviation is 4 V.
Determine % Voltage Imbalance.
= 100 x 4 / 229 = 1.75 %
This amount of phase imbalance is satisfactory as it is below the
maximum allowable 2%

IMPORTANT
If the supply voltage phase imbalance is more than 2% at main circuit
breaker, contact your utility company.
MULTI-STAGE THERMOSTAT
OPERATION
A multi-stage thermostat will be the one that control the system. It is the
one that will control the percent operation of the unit depending on the
room temperature and set temperature. Below is the operation for a 3-
stage system.

COMPRESSOR SEQUENCE
This thermostat is programmed that the main compressor position will
automatically changed once the controller turns off. See below the
sequence of the compressor. This rotational sequence of the compressor
is to balance the compressor operation and oil return.
