topic: work or study
Do you work or study?
i actually do both now, i work for a local school, as a Finance teacher. also study my ielts for my
higher studies in the states.
Why did you choose that job?
I believe in the power of education to break down barriers and create opportunities for all. Teaching
is a nobel profession. I find great joy when students grasp a concept they previously struggled with.
Being a teacher means being a facilitator of these moments, guiding students on their learning
journey and celebrating their achievements along the way.
this profession allows me to be a positive role model and mentor for students. I want to guide them
not only academically but also help them develop essential life skills, such as resilience, empathy,
and effective communication, that will benefit them beyond the classroom.”
By fostering an inclusive classroom environment, I can promote diversity, equity, and inclusion,
ensuring that every student feels valued and respected.
Do you enjoy your job?
Most of the time. It’s very rewarding to be able to help people every day, and the students here are
very hardworking and fun to teach, but you sometimes have lessons that do go so well, and the
money could always be better.
Do you get on well with your co-workers?
Yes, fine. I don’t really see work as part of my social life, so I don’t socialize with them, so I suppose I
could be more friendly, but it’s just my nature to be a bit colder with colleagues. I think it’s more
professional to be that way.
What was your first day at work like?
Many teachers were starting at the same time as me, 10 I think, so we all had a big induction day.
The more senior teachers ran workshops with us to familiarize us with their different systems, and
then we went for a team dinner in the evening.
What responsibilities do you have at work?
All of the teachers’ main responsibility is to plan good lessons and then teach them to the best of
their ability. On top of that, we have several admin. tasks to carry out, like marking homework, filling
out attendance sheets and writing reports.
Would you like to change your job in the future?
Yes, as I said before, I like working alone, so I would like to be my own boss. I’m currently developing
my own website, so if it’s successful, I will leave teaching and work on it full-time. This will also give
me more time to work on other projects.
What is your typical day like at work?
I normally have 2 or 3 classes in the evening, and I start the day by doing all the planning at home.
This normally takes an hour or two, depending on the lessons. I then take the rest of the day to
spend with my family before going to work around 3 to print off my materials, and then I teach all
evening.
How much time do you spend at your job?
I spent around 8 hours every day in my day job. I get Friday and Saturday off from this job which I
utilize to spend time with my family.
Topic: apartment
1. Do you live in a house or an apartment?
I live in a flat in a 14-storey apartment building with my family. I enjoy my life there, because all
facilities and services are available within walking distance, which means I can easily grab anything I
need in just a few minutes.
2. Do you like a house or a flat/ an apartment?
I believe most people would prefer to have their own house rather than to rent a place and so do I.
Hence, if I have my way, a house with a small garden would be my choice since I don’t enjoy the
constant disturbance from next-door apartments and elevator rides every time coming home.
3. What is your favorite room in your home? Why?
Definitely my own bedroom. It’s the personal space where I can do whatever I want without getting
scolded by my mom. Besides, my bedroom is an ideal place for me to avoid noise, so I tend to lock
myself up in my bedroom whenever I need to concentrate on my study.
4. What do you usually do in your flat/room?
Well, definitely I’ll spend some me-time there. I study, I chill out by reading, drawing and dancing all
by myself. Sometimes I also invite one or two friends to spend time with. We’ll watch some movies
together and tell each other endless stories.
5. How long have you lived there?
Although during my childhood my family had to move a lot, I’ve lived in the most recent house for
almost ten years. Comparing to the old houses, I think this house has been the best so far.
6. Would you change anything about your home? Why / why not?
Well, perhaps I would expand the dining area. It is the common space for family members to gather,
so I think it would be nice if my house’s dining room could be a little more spacious.
7. Would you like to move to a different home in the future?
Although my current accommodation is perfectly fine, I would love to experience living in a villa
once. Since it was my childhood dream to have a swimming pool and a garden of my own, a villa
seems like an ideal house for me.
Topic: friend
1. Do you have a lot of friends?
Not a lot, but I have a few very close friends … I think it is better to have one
reliable friend that a thousand fair-weather friends... Although it's not easy to
meet someone you have a lot in common with, I think managed to do it.
2. How often do you see your friends?
When I was a teenager, I used to hang out with a bunch of friends, and we
would sit in the park or maybe go for a coffee together. There’d be a lot of
banter and we would tell each other stories or jokes.
Nowadays though, I tend to meet up with just one or two friends and, you know,
we will catch up on the latest happenings and we might confide in each other,
you know maybe share something more personal about our lives or family.
Is there anything special about your friends?
Oh, that's an interesting question... I guess there are lot of things... For
instance, my best friend can draw unbelievable art, good enough to sell. And
my other friend is really keen on cooking... But most importantly, they are
people, who are near and dear to my heart.
or how long do you know them?
I’ve known my friends since my childhood… We've been through thick and
thin together… Probably that's why we're so close now.
[Link] do people meet and make friends in your country?
I do not believe that a person's country is relevant while attempting to
establish new friends. In every country, it is possible to create friends just by
spending time with them and sharing their interests; hence, friendships are
inevitable. Alternatively, you can make online friends using social networks
such as Instagram and Facebook.
[Link] do adults and children develop friendships?
Children typically form friends without any conscious effort. Usually,
common interests and goals serve as the foundation of their friendship.
While adults utilise self-disclosure to build trust and loyalty among their
friends.
[Link] you think it is possible to become real friends with people you meet
on the internet?
Real friendship, in my opinion, has nothing to do with how or where we
meet, but rather with how we decide to develop the relationship. I believe it
is feasible to create a genuine friendship online. The only necessary
characteristics of a friend are honesty, dependability, empathy, respect, and
loyalty. If you are receiving all of these benefits from online friends, making
genuine online mates should be simple.
[Link] do you think makes people have a long friendship?
I believe that communication and understanding play a fundamental part in
the development of lifelong friendships. If two people desire a long-term
friendship, they must understand one another, exert equal effort, and
maintain regular contact to strengthen their ties.
[Link] it make things easier in a friendship if you have similar interests?
Yes, if people share similar ideas and preferences, they will rapidly
synchronise and there will be no place for discord. Consequently, it will be
easier for them to continue their friendship.
[Link] is your best friend and why?
My best friend's name is Kirtan. We have been friends since childhood and
share numerous identical interests; in fact, we are extremely similar. I
believe that the only reason we became friends was that we enjoyed each
other's company and supported one another in times of need.
[Link] long have you known him and what is special about him?
I've known him since we were children. He is skilled in academics and
assists me in comprehending educational topics. Moreover, he is an excellent
cook. When I was out of town and on my own, the many dishes he taught me
to cook were quite helpful.
