WARNING
This equipment has Measurement category I, therefore do not use the equipment for
measurements within measurement categories II, III and IV.
• Measurement category I
Measurement category I is for measurements performed on circuits not directly
connected to MAINS.
• Measurement category II
Measurement category II is for measurements performed on circuits directly con-
nected to the low voltage installation.
• Measurement category III
Measurement category III is for measurements performed in the building installation.
• Measurement category IV
Measurement category IV is for measurements performed at the source of the low-
voltage installation.
Ground the device following the procedure in this document to prevent from electric shock
and to minimize the noise.
● Air Filter
Wash the air filters periodically (such as every three months). Use water and the neutral
detergent to clean the filter then reuse it after drying.
• Follow the procedure in this document to exchange the air filter at the specified period.
CAUTION
SEE ALSO
For Air Filter, see the following:
B6.5.2, “Parts that can be Replaced by the User”
● Fan Unit
When changing fan unit while the power supply is not shutdown, be careful not to touch
other parts so as to avoid electric shock.
Exchanging the fuses must follow the procedure in this document since it has danger of
electric shock.
• The fuse for exchange must be the Yokogawa designated fuses.
CAUTION
• Exchanging relay must follow the procedure in this document so as to avoid electric
shock.
SEE ALSO
For Power Distribution Board, see the followings:
B5.1, “Power Distribution Board”

B6.5.2, “Parts that can be Replaced by the User”
● Exchanging Fuse
• The product maintenance should be only performed by the persons who have under-
gone the specialized training.
• When the device becomes dusty, use a vacuum cleaner or a soft cloth to clean it.
CAUTION
• During maintenance, put up wrist strap, and take other ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
measures.
• If the existing caution label is dirty and illegible, prepare a new label (part
number:T9029BX) to replace it.

● Crest Factor
The crest factor is the ratio of the peak value to the effective value of any input current.
Effective value
Peak value
Crest factor =
Effective value
Figure Input Voltage & Current Waveforms
• If the power unit crest factor (the peak value allowable in relation to the effective value)
is larger than the device crest factor, the power unit can be used to its full rated capac-
ity. However, rush current, backup time, reserve capacity, etc., must be separately
taken into consideration.
• If the power unit crest factor is smaller than the device crest factor, the power unit
capacity needs to be calculated in the formula shown below. Rush current, backup
time, reserve capacity, etc., must be separately taken into consideration.
Power unit output capacity = Total device power consumption x Capacity coefficient
● Rush Current
A large rush current flows in to the device due to momentary condenser-charging current or
transformer-exciting rush current when the device is turned on. Thus it is necessary that no
voltage fluctuation that could adversely affect any other devices is caused at least when
some devices are turned on or off. Slow starting, switching to uninterruptible backup power,
etc., will also be required when all devices are to be turned on simultaneously.
The rush current when power is turned on could trip the overload protector and cause
inadvertent switching to backup power or commercial power supply; in this connection, a
power unit that is equipped with a function to automatically resets the condition instanta-
neously without any break when overloading has been terminated.
