ASSUMPTION RESULT
The Micro Rice Project was tasked with making assumptions about
production based on the five years production data from the ASSCAT Rice
Project, encompassing a total of 10 cropping cycles. However, only two years’
worth of data were recorded. It is noteworthy that, according to RGMO
personnel, these are the only available data they can provide since they begin
working in the RGMO; no data on Rice Project Production have been turned
over to them. Attached herewith is the only two-year production data from the
RGMO, covering three cropping seasons from the years 2022 to 2023.
Using this data, the table below summarizes the average production per
cropping season in the years 2022 to 2023 to formulate an assumption of the
results of the ¼ hectare of the Micro Rice Project started from January to June
2024.
Average
Cropping Season Total Hectare Total production per
(Ha) Production Hectare
(Fresh Palay)
August to December 2022 30 Ha 461 sacks 15.37 sacks/ha
February to June 2023 14 Ha 424.15 sacks 30.30 sacks/ha
August to December 2023 14 Ha 280.70 sacks 20.05 sacks/ha
Total average production
per hectare 21.91 sacks per Ha (¼ Ha= 5.48 sacks)
Based on the provided data spanning the years 2022 to 2023, which
encompasses three cropping seasons, we can derive insights into the average
rice production per hectare during each season. During the August to
December 2022 cropping season, a total of 30 hectares of land were cultivated,
resulting in a harvest of 461 sacks of fresh palay. This translates to an average
production of 15.37 sack per hectare. In the February to June 2023 cropping
seasons, the total area cultivated reduced to 14 hectares, yet the production
increased significantly to 424.15 sacks of fresh palay. Consequently, the
average production per hectare rows notably to about 30.30 sacks. Meanwhile,
in the second cropping season of the same year, August to December 2023, the
total production of fresh palay yielded 280.70 sacks on 14 hectares, having an
average of 20.05 sacks per hectare.
Averaging the results of these three seasons, the total average production
per hectare was determined to be 21.91 sacks. To apply this average to a
smaller scale of a ¼ hectare plot, the expected production was calculated by
dividing the average production per hectare by four. This results in an
approximate production of 5.48 sacks of fresh palay for the ¼ hectare Micro
Rice Project, providing a reasonable benchmark based on the past
performance. Noting that it is contingent upon several factors remaining
relatively consistent, it should be viewed as a projection rather than a
guaranteed outcome. Therefore, with continuous monitoring and adaptive
management practices that are helpful in optimizing production, the project
assumes that it will harvest no less than 8.5 sacks to achieve a return of
investment (ROI) of 26.60%.

I. Project result:
This assumption production is based on 2 years average per hectare
production of ASSCAT which is only 21.91/sack per ha. The assumption
of this project is 8.50 per ¼ ha. times the current price which is 23.
The rice project yielded a favorable return on investment (ROI) of 26.60%
equivalent to a net income of Php 2,465. The project gross income of
Php11,730 with the total expenses of 9,265. Several factor affecting this
positive return on investment such as carefully selecting inputs and
resources, management of rice production. Through this the project
minimized the expenses.
Furthermore, the market price of palay increased during the project
production, resulting to higher selling and greater profitability. This
favorable market condition added to the financial success of the rice
project.
