What is a workspace

▪ A workspace is some binary file which is used by


CanEasy to save and load it‘s data.
▪ File extension *.csm
Which information is stored

▪ CanEasy stores all data in the workspace


▪ This lets you share a workspace by just copying
the csm file
▪ The workspace is saved via the menu File →
Save or by clicking on the floppy disc icon in the
toolbar.
Import and Export

▪ Configurations of core applications can also be


exported (and imported) to an external file

– Trace window (*.trc)


– Signal plot (*.pltx)
– Signal monitor (*.smo)
– User panel (*.pnl)
– Rich panel (*.spd)
– VBA (*.vba)
– VSTA (*.vstap)

Adjustment of simulation behavior

▪ The simulation behavior of every control unit can be


configured via the context menu
“Simulation behavior”
▪ The following modes are available:

Mode Description
OFF No messages are simulated
Reduced Only messages directed to a real ECU are simulated
Full All messages are simulated
Real No messages are simulated
Setup real control units

▪ In order to operate a
network with real control
units, you have to set
which control units are
real and which are
simulated.
▪ Real control units are
highlighted in bold letters
Load required user plug-ins

▪ User plug-ins are


located in the folder
"User-Plugins" within
the CanEasy
installation directory

▪ There are several user


plug-ins available for
CanEasy
Automate import via configuration file
▪ Content of a CanEasy
configuration file:
− Busses / DBC files
− Signal values
− Attributes
− Environment variable
