Upon careful consideration of the roles and responsibilities listed in the job description, I am
applying for the role of CIB R&A - Banking – Summer Analyst. Although I have a background in
computer science and engineering, I have a strong inclination towards the financial world and the
intricacies of investment banking.
I have previously worked in Cognizant as a software developer for 24 months, during which I gained
expertise in multiple front end and back end programming languages. I worked on 2 different
projects, and was awarded the “Best employee of the month” twice during my tenure there. I also
acted as the point of contact between the development and the testing team and ensured smooth
communication, hence reducing the errors as well as the time taken for each iteration for my
projects.
I have a CGPA of 8.97 in my undergraduate, which shows my consistency and focus towards
academic excellence. Given my interest in numbers, graphs and data analysis, I chose electives like
data analytics, which I believe would be extremely useful for the role I am currently applying for. I
had also assisted my professor in his research on computer vision, which demonstrates my keen
interest in research and hunger for knowledge.
Well into my 2nd month in IIM Trichy, I find finance subjects exceedingly interesting. I have also
taken up courses in valuation and Basics of investment banking. I am also currently preparing to
appear for the CFA level 1 examination. These 2 months have also imbibed a team work culture in
me, which, I am certain, would be valuable to the role.
I am a person with sound logical and analytical skills, with a curious nature and learning
temperament. I am excited by the prospect of working in JPMC and looking forward to the
opportunity of presenting myself to your team.

Market Risk Coverage for the esteemed summer internship program. With an educational
background in commerce, and a strong affinity for quantitative analysis and the financial services
industry, this would be my dream job and I would make a perfect fit for the given role.
What drew me to JPMC was its reputation and history for its competence in the field of Financial
Services, especially in the field of Asset Management. With its roots tracing back to 1799, it's almost
overwhelming to think that I have a shot at working at such a company, given its rich legacy.
Through courses, projects and internships, I have built a strong foundation of key skills instrumental to
execute the tasks required for the role. I am highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with which I have
built several reusable models as a part of my coursework and internships. I have trained myself in
Python which equips me with the necessary technical competence to make much more proficient models.
I have fundamental knowledge of SQL software, including NoSQL where I have written multiple
queries with the ability of managing a database. I have built a good number of dashboards using
Tableau and have won second place in a Dashboard creation contest held at my university.
As one can see from my skill set, I go above and beyond to equip myself with the skills that are
required to excel in my work. With a basic understanding of portfolio management and a keen
interest to learn new things, I would be ready to take on any challenge that is hurled towards me.
I actively trade in the stock market, with a varied portfolio including both long and short-term
investments. I believe that this gives me the understanding of how markets work and an experience
in the asset management sector.
Although I am fresher, I possess the ability to learn quickly and the temperament to strive towards
excellence. I also believe that being a fresher plays to my strengths as I am not filled with any
