SCHEME OF STUDY FORBS (HONS) ACCOUNTING & FINANCE

Introduction

In the wake of globalization, economic integration and competition, only those individuals can
hold positions of responsibility who have the capacity to analyze complex problems and make
intelligent decisions. The BS- Accounting &Finance program helps students to think logically and
improve their ability to use financial concepts to analyze “real world” problems and
opportunities. This is a unique program that emphasizes qualitative and quantitative approach
to dealing with financial problems in both the public and private sector. Furthermore, this
program will provide a sound foundation to be successful in the rapidly evolving, global business
and financial environment. The course work also prepares students to pursue further
certification from well known professional local/ international organizations.

This Program will be offered by Department of Accounting & Finance, Faculty of Management
Sciences. It is a four-year honors degree in Accounting and Finance which provides the insights
needed to be successful in financial accounting, managerial accounting, budgeting, accounting
systems, internal controls, financial analysis, financial reporting, internal and external auditing,
taxation and other accounting related issues.
Vision
To prepare dynamic business graduates who are knowledgeable and embedded with Islamic
values with recognition in accounting and finance profession.
Mission
We aim to provide distinction in field of accounting and finance through teaching, research,
interactive seminars, workshops and liaison with industry. We want to meet the needs of
industry by providing graduates with up to date knowledge of professional world. Our graduates
stand out with exemptions from professional accounting and finance bodies to get professional
accounting degree as well. We focus on Personality development through discussions on Islamic
values and their application in business.
