HOW TO GET INTO

KPMG MANAGEMENT
CONSULTING
OVERVIEW OF THE
HIRING PROCESS
Interviewing for KPMG Consulting roles
involves case and behavioural rounds.

# FIRST ROUND

Two 30-minute interviews: one for case

interviews and the other for behavioral or fit
questions.

# SECOND ROUND

Three interviews in total: Behavioral/Fit (30-

40 minutes), Case (30-40 minutes).
# THIRD ROUND

Candidates may face a third round with

two to three interviews, lasting 30-40
minutes each. These sessions primarily
cover behavioral questions, with the
possibility of including case interviews.
KPMG CASE INTERVIEW
In KPMG case interviews, candidates lead
by asking questions and guiding the
analysis.

#STEP 1 - UNDERSTAND THE CASE

At the beginning of the case, listen carefully

to the interviewer's information, take notes,
and ensure a clear understanding of the
context and objective. Don't hesitate to ask
clarifying questions and always confirm the
case objective to avoid failure.
#STEP 2 - STRUCTURE THE PROBLEM

Build a framework to tackle the business

problem by structuring and breaking it
down. Request a moment of silence if
needed, then walk the interviewer
through your framework, inviting
questions or feedback.

#STEP 3 - SOLVE THE PROBLEM

After framing the issue, address

quantitative and qualitative questions.
Explain your approach for calculations,
seek information, and connect answers
to the case objective for potential
recommendations.
#STEP 4 - MAKE A RECOMMENDATION

Conclude the case interview by

presenting your recommendation,
emphasizing key reasons. Optionally,
suggest potential next steps for
unexplored framework areas or
unanswered questions.

EXAMPLES
#EXAMPLE 1: NATIONAL ZOO

Your client is one of the oldest national zoos

in India. The zoo hosts over 2,000 animals in
its 150-acre park. Your client is looking to
increase revenues and profits and is
considering purchasing a giant panda from
China to place in its newest exhibit. You
have been hired to help them make this
decision. What would you recommend?
#EXAMPLE 2: BREWING COMPANY

Our client is the largest Indian beer brewing

company. The Indian beer market is
dominated by three large players. The rest
of the market is comprised of small mom-
and-pop breweries.

What would happen to our client if the

second-largest and third-largest Indian
brewing companies decided to merge?
KPMG BEHAVIOURAL
INTERVIEW
In addition to case interviews, you will likely
be asked a few behavioural or fit interview
questions.

There are 6-7 questions that are most

commonly asked (be honest and authentic
about what you say and prepare
anecdotes for these answers before the
interview, not on the spot) -
