INTRODUCTION
This report provides a detailed overview of the activities, challenges, and recommendations of the Kitale National Polytechnic
Students Union for the reporting period.

OPERATIONAL UPDATES
Jitume Digital Center Branding:The proposed branding of the Jitume Digital Center by IT Governor Richard Gicharu has
encountered delays. We recommend expediting this process to enhance student access and utilization of digital resources.
Student ID Card Replacement: Students continue to face challenges in replacing lost or damaged ID cards. We propose
streamlining the replacement process to reduce student inconvenience.

APPRECIATIONS

We extend our sincere appreciation to the school management for providing mark pens, which have greatly facilitated group
discussions andcollaborative learning among students.

URGENT CALLS& ACTIONS


KNEC Examinations Registration: We urgently request all student leaders to actively promote and assist students in
registering for the upcoming KNEC examinations to ensure full participation.
Infrastructure Concerns:There have been reports of a leaking roof in the dining hall. We recommend immediate maintenance
to prevent further damage and inconvenience to students and staff.

DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES & RECOMMENDATIONS


Applied Science Department:Governor Walter Omusolo acknowledges the administration for operationalizing laboratories.
We recommend continued investment in departmental infrastructure to enhance practical learning experiences.
Mechanical Department: Significant improvements in class attendance and trip planning coordination have been noted. We
recommend sharing best practices across departments to further enhance operational efficiency.

CHALLENGES & PROPOSED SOLUTIONS


Building Department:Challenges in trip planning and coordination persist. We recommend implementing a standardized trip
planning protocol and providing adequate resources to ensure smooth departmental operations.

HEALTH FACILITIES AND MANAGEMENT


Hygiene Concerns:CS Health reported unsatisfactory hygiene conditions in toilets at the shades. We recommend establishing a
regular cleaning schedule and increasing monitoring to maintain hygiene standards.
Hostel Facilities:CS Internal Affairs updated on socket repairs and water tank cleaning in hostels. We recommend installing
secure and organized shelves in the dining hall to improve student convenience and safety.

CURRICULUM AND FINANCIAL MATTERS


Short Courses Curriculum: There is confusion among students regarding the upcoming short courses. We recommend
publishing a detailed course calendar and providing clear information to facilitate informed decisions.

-Financial Compliance: We are pleased to report that all student leaders have opened ABSA accounts, complying with the
institution's cashless policy. We recommend regular audits to ensure continued compliance and transparency.

COMMITTEE REPORTS& RECOMMENDATIONS


Budget Committee:Chaired by CS Finance, presented updates on financial allocations. We recommend allocating
additional funds for student welfare initiatives based on identified needs.
Education Committee:Chaired by CS Education, discussed academic matters. We recommend enhancing academic
support services and career guidance programs for students.

BURSARIES AND STUDENTS SUPPORT


We seek approval for the disbursement of bursaries to financially disadvantaged students. This initiative aims to
promote inclusivity and support academic excellence.
