LIST OF DEMERITS

Reference AFPR-G 310-021


CLASS “A” Demerit – Punished by Discharge
Gross disrespect to superior Officer, abuse of authority, illegal collection and
destruction of military or school property.

Any Cadet Officer, or Cadet who in both case of the former:


1. Abuses his/her authority, or manhandles his subordinates;
2. Assaults a superior officer under any pretext what so ever;
3. Found cheating during the graded examinations;
4. Who shall exacts fees, collection or contribution from among members of the cadet
corps without an authority from the commandant;
5. Who shall utterly ignore and violate standing instruction;
6. Who deliberately mutilate, destroy or render any unserviceable military or school
property.
Shall be punishable by discharge from the corps of cadets or from school concerned.

CLASS “B” Demerit – Grave Misdemeanor 6 – 10 demerits

Any Cadet Officer or Cadet:


1. Who shall be found talking to a superior office in a begrudging and hostile manner.
2. Who disobey legal orders from his superior;
3. Who points his/her rifle to any persons;
4. Who deliberately telling falsehood;
5. Who, while in ranks or any prescribed formation makes boisterous remarks or catcalls
at any woman;
6. Who shall be found sleeping in the classroom or any place of instruction and formation;
7. Who shall report late in any prescribed instruction or prescribed assembly/formation;
And category to the aforementioned offenses shall be awarded not less than six (6) and not
more than ten (10) demerits as the commandant may direct.

CLASS “C” Demerit – Less Grave Misdemeanor 4 – 5 demerits

Any Cadet Officer or Cadet:


1. Who shall be found slouching in ranks;
2. Who knowingly or unknowingly found walking without headgear;
3. Who shall be found with sleeve rolled-up or in the spit while in ranks act of rolling
his/her sleeve while in ROTC uniform;
4. Who spit while in ranks;
5. Who, while at or in parade rest rolls his/her eyes or does any act detrimental to
discipline while in ranks;
6. Who, when reporting to an officer chew gums or tobacco;
7. Who carelessly lay aside his/her rifle;
8. Who shall be found wearing slovenly uniform;
Who commits any similar in nature and category as the aforementioned offenses shall be
awarded not less than four (4) and not more than five (5) demerits.

CLASS “D” Demerit – Minor Misdemeanors (1 - 3 Demerits)

Any Cadet Officer or Cadet:


1. Who shall be found without name cloth/plate and paraphernalia corresponding to
his/her ranks;
2. With shoelace wrongly tied;
3. Unshined shoes/boots;
4. Unshined brass articles;
5. Unkempt long hair;
6. Unshaved or long mustache;
7. Dirty face;
8. Missing buttons or unbutton pockets;
9. Wearing a uniform other than the prescribed one;
10. Who shall be found malingering;
11. Falling out from the ranks without permission;
12. Standing in one leg;
Who commits any similar in nature and category as the aforementioned offenses shall be
awarded one (1) and not more than three (3) demerits.
