INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

Note: -

 Check every single detail in your Offer Letter. Also about chosen program.
 Your interview content should be similar to your SOP (do not copy paste).
 Student is not supposed to tell the interviewer that he will work part-time
during studies in Australia.

1. Give me your brief introduction/ introduce yourself. (Name, Passport no.,


address, family background, qualification).
2. What %age you got in your 10th, 12th, bachelors, masters? Which subjects
you studied in your previous degree, also marks of each subject?
3. Why there is a difference in your 10th and 12th %age? (or 12th & bachelors).
4. Do you have any Backlogs? If Yes, how many?
5. Do you have any work experience? If yes, please explain (joining date,
designation, job roles).
6. Why do you want to resume your studies again? (If student is
Working/already done master’s degree).
7. Have you done IELTS/PTE? On which date? What bands you got?
8. Do you have any Gap in between your studies? If Yes, Explain your Gap.
9. Are you married/Single? (If Married then tell them about your Spouse, is
your spouse is travelling with you, occupation and qualification of spouse).
10. Why do you want to study in Australia and not any other country?
(Compare Australia with other Countries, tell them about Australian life and
culture, benefits of Australian Education).
11. Why not India? Is the same course available in your home country (in
which universities)? (Note: - Don’t be negative about India. In which Indian
universities the same course is available, compare course content of Indian
Universities with Australian Universities, difference between Indian &
Australian education system).
12. How many Universities have you applied to? (Student is not
supposed to tell the interviewer that he Applied in other universities as
well).
13. Why you selected this university and not any other Universities in
Australia? (In answer you can include- How did you find out about this
chosen university, history of the university, ranking, infrastructure, student
reviews on any social media, university employability rate, student
satisfaction rate, university achievements & Partnerships, facilities
provided by university, Compare your chosen university with other
universities which are providing the same course (should comparison with
universities which are in the same state you are going to study), compare
with course content, ranking, student reviews & satisfaction rate,
employment rate).
14. Which campus have you applied for and why did you choose this
Campus? Location of your chosen campus. (You should be able to explain
what you know about your chosen campus and its surroundings).
15. Why did you choose this course and how is this course relevant to
your previous education? And what course content you will study?
(tell the interviewer- how this applied course is related to your previous
qualification, show your interest, motive to study this course, how this
course will be helpful to achieve your goals in future, what subjects you will
study in this program and explain these subjects as well).
(Visit your University Website form there you’ll get course information).
16. What is your university student ID/application ID number/ Tuition
fee, how much scholarship you got, student living cost per year (AUD
24,505), return air fare (AUD 2000)?
17. What are your career plans? What skills you will gain after the
completion of this Program. (Knowledge/skills you will gain after the
completion of this course, how that Knowledge/skills will be helpful to find
job in your home country, what kind of job role you are looking for,
Companies/MNC’s names, position you can work, Initial Salary packages in
India, the employment conditions in your home country, will do something
for my society and country). (Visit University Website for Career Outcome).
18. Are you planning to stay back in Australia? (No, I will return to my
home country India).
19. What is the incentive to return to India/Why you want to return to
your home country/ How can you ensure that you will return to India after
the completion of your program? (less competition in India than Australia,
Comparison between living expenses of Australia and India, Economic ties
and Circumstances in India, Home tie-ups, family, assets, culture, jobs
availability related to your sector & Employment Conditions in India where
you will earn handsome money).
20. How long it will take you to earn back the total amount you are going
to invest in your studies? (Should be genuine answer).
21. Who is sponsoring your education? What are the sources of income
and annual income of sponsored person and how much funds do you have?
Explain in brief. Also if taking education loan (how much loan you will take
and from which bank). (Note-Should have brief knowledge about required
and Available Funds, income and source of Income of all the sponsors).
22. Where will you stay in Australia? (On Campus or off campus). Where
did you research about the Lodging & why did you choose lodging?
23. Distance from your Accommodation to the University?
24. How will you manage your expenses in Australia?
25. Are you aware about the visa rules and regulations? Explain.
26. Do you have any Travel history outside India or any Visa refusal?
27. Do you have any friends and relative in Australia?
28. Who is your agent? Where is the office of your agent? (check you
offer letter).
29. Nearest airport and distance from University and how will you reach
to the university from airport?
30. What is the postal code and location of your university?
31. Do you have any dependents?
32. Do you know about OSHC? Why is it necessary for every student?
33. What will you do if your student Visa gets rejected?
34. Are you aware about Subclass 500 and Subclass 485? (Student visa
Subclass 500- Allows students to remain in Australia for up to 5 years for
the purpose of full-time study at an educational institution in Australia.
(Subclass 485 (Temporary Graduate Visa)- (Post-study Work Permit), that
allows student to work after the completion of their degree and gain work
experience in Australia).
35. Tell me about the job opportunities and companies there in Australia
in the same field. & Partnership with Organizations (This is question is
mostly asked by UNISA).
36. How many provinces and UT’s are in Australia?
37. How Many universities are in the state you are going to study?
38. Why you chose to study in this state only? (Queensland/New South
Wales/ Victoria/ South Australia/Western Australia/Tasmania).
39. Tell me about your hobbies?
40. What was your favourite subject in 12th/ bachelors? Marks obtained
in this subject.
41. Why would the High Commission grant you the Visa?

Students are getting interview calls from DHA (Delhi). Sharing few
questions, they asked during the interview for your reference:

 Why only Australia, Why not other country?


 Why only the particular course?
 What are the course subjects/ topics?
 Your sponsors?
 Any Siblings, what are they doing now?
 About your work experience?
 About your salary and in which bank it is credited? And what’s your
basic pay?
 Scope after your masters?
 Explain about the post work visa? Do you want to stay there after
completion of your masters? If not, Why?
 Who are your sponsors?
 How did you pay your university fee?
 Do you have any education bank loan? Which bank it is? How much
of amount it is sanctioned? Branch?
