IEC ON CHILD PROTECTION LAWS AND DRUG AWARENESS
I. ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
On May 10, 2024 a collaborative Information Education Campaign (IEC) was conducted at
_________________________ to raise awareness on Child Protection Law and Drug Abuse
among Grade 9 students. The activity aimed to equip students with important knowledge to
protect themselves from the danger of illegal drugs and other form of abuse.
It was ___________ effort to eradicate illegal drugs and promote a healthier lifestyle among
its community. Hence, collaborations with local authorities and community leaders like this
further reinforced the importance of addressing the issue of drug abuse and protecting the
well-being of the younger generation.

II. OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the undertaking was to educate students on the provision of Child
Protection Laws and the harmful effects of illegal drugs, incorporating the BIDA Program or
Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan through presentations and interactive discussions that will
foster a sense of awareness and accountability among students, paving the way for a more
resilient youth population in _____________.
III. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY
2:00 PM to 2:40 PM Values Formation and Moral Development
-Students were engaged in discussions that promoted ethical values
and moral development to guide them in making responsible choices
and decisions.
2:40 PM to 3:40 PM Prohibition of Illegal Drugs R.A. 9165
-A detailed presentation was conducted to educate students on the
provision of RA9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous
Drugs act of 2002, discussing the ill effect of the illegal drugs and
highlighting the serious consequences of involvement in it.
3:40 PM to 4:00 PM R.A. 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act)
-The students were informed about the rights and welfare of the
children in conflict with the law, emphasizing the importance of
reintegration into the society.
4:00 PM to 4:30 PM R.A. 7610 Anti-child Abuse Law
-The students learned the different forms of child abuse and the legal
provisions under Republic Act 7610 protecting the children from all
forms of maltreatment.
4:30 PM to 5:00 PM R.A. 11596 Anti Child Marriage Law
-The students were made aware of the prohibitions of R.A. 11596
which
prohibits child marriage and ensures the protection of children’s
rights.
IV. OUTPUTS OF THE ACTIVITY
The activity was attended by the _______________________, its Teachers, MSWDO IEC
focal Person and staffs, PNP Deputy PLt. Dolores Castro and other PNP Personnel, Bgy.
Officials, Sagnguniang Bayan Committee on Social Sevice, SK Fed. President, Some Religious
Leaders, and MADAC representatives.
Overall, IEC on Child Protection Laws and Drug Awareness was a successful initiative that
empowered the Grade 9 students of JPRNHS with essential knowledge to protect
themselves and make informed decisions in the face of social problems. The event served as
a significant step towards promoting a safe and drug free environment for the youth in the
school community.
