Approval:
1. For Solar PV and Inverter, the approval of SREDA is required.
2. For Grid / Off-Grid, BPDB approval required (Net Metering).
3. For ESS, Explosive Department & Fire Department License is required.
Process for the Solar Panel and Inverter Import and Installation in
Bangladesh:
1. Solar PV Panel and Inverter Brand should be approved by SREDA (Sustainable
and Renewable Energy Development Authority), Power Division, Ministry of
Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Government of Bangladesh.
2. For Battery Importation, it is required to declare prior to import as Hazardous
Item and purpose should be mention to the Office of the Chief Controller of
Imports and Exports (CCI&E). For Operation, it is required to take License from
the Department of Explosive as well as the Fire Department.
3. To Install and Operation of the Solar PV Plant, to do the Net Metering from
BPDB is required to take approval and permission from BPDB.
4. After Installation of the Plant, BPDB will visit the plant for Energizing the Net
Metering. BPDB will form a Committee, a SREDA Official might be included in
the committee as a member for approval.
5. For the Installation of the Step-Up Substation, the ELB (Electrical Licensing
Board) License is required before Energization of the Transformer.
