SUBJECT : Progress Report - Robbery Investigation

DATE : September 15, 2024

1. Date and Place of Occurrence

The robbery incident at the construction warehouse in Brgy. Batuan, La Carlota City, owned by local
Chinese businessman Jung Kook, occurred around midnight on August 19, 2024.

2. Initial Investigation and Findings

During the initial on-site investigation conducted on August 20, 2024, the lock of the warehouse was
found vandalized, and various construction materials, including an undetermined number of bags of
cement, plywood, and cartons of tiles, were reported missing.

The security guard on duty, who discovered the break-in around 2:00 AM on August 19, 2024, informed
the owner, Mr. Jung Kook, of the incident.

3. Follow-up Investigation

On August 21, 2024, investigators revisited the crime scene to gather additional evidence. No visible
signs of forced entry were found at the warehouse perimeter, leading to the suspicion that the incident
may have involved an insider. The security guard, as well as nearby individuals, have been interviewed to
gather more details on any suspicious activity prior to the break-in.

CCTV footage from nearby establishments was reviewed on August 22, 2024. Although no clear footage
of the warehouse itself was available, a vehicle was observed entering the area around 1:30 AM.
Investigators are working to trace the vehicle and its occupants.

5. Current Status of Investigation

- Interviews with warehouse employees are ongoing to assess if there are any internal connections to
the incident.
- Inventory is being conducted by the warehouse owner to determine the exact number of materials
stolen.

- Coordination with other law enforcement agencies has been established to track the stolen materials,
in case of resale or distribution.

6. Next Steps

- Further questioning of the security guard and other key personnel to explore the possibility of an
inside job.

- Continued review of CCTV footage in neighboring streets and establishments to trace the vehicle and
suspects involved.

- Comprehensive forensic analysis of the crime scene to identify any further leads.

7. Recommendation

Based on the ongoing investigation, it is recommended that heightened security measures be

implemented at the warehouse, including upgrading locks, enhancing CCTV coverage, and conducting
thorough background checks on all personnel.
