U 2.0), introduces the 'Safai Apnao, Bimaari Bhagao' (SABB) initiative for clean and healthy cities
Campaign Period: 1st July to 31st August 2024.
The Safai Apnao, Bimaari Bhagao initiative aims to enhance the preparedness of Urban Local
Bodies, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the challenges posed by heavy rainfall and
heightened health risks during the months of June to August.
MoHUA Approves Rs. 860.35 Crore For WB To Boost Urban Swachhata Infrastructure
The MoHUA has approved the proposals worth Rs.860.35 Crore for West Bengal (WB) under
SBM-U 2.0, to bolster waste management infrastructure across urban areas, with a targeted
completion by 2026.

Food License Initiatives
Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao, Minister of State (MoS) Independent charge (IC), and Anupriya Singh
Patel, MoS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW), unveiled 3
initiatives namely, virtual National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) assessment
for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs); a dashboard for monitoring compliance with the Indian Public
Health Standards (IPHS); and spot food license and registration initiatives for food vendors.
NQAS for the Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHL) was also released during the event to
improve the quality and competence of management and testing systems in IPHLs.
IPHL was established by the MoH&FW, under the Prime Minister-Ayushman Bharat Health
Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) aimed to strengthen laboratory systems and ensure
accessible, efficient, and high-quality diagnostic services.
NITI Aayog Launches Sampoornata Abhiyan Campaign for Development of Aspirational
Districts & Blocks
NITI Aayog(National Institution for Transforming India) launched the‘Sampoornata
Abhiyan(Completeness Campaign)’, a 3-month campaign, with an aim to achieve 100% saturation of
12 key social sector indicators across all Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks (6 each).
Campaign Period: 4th July 2024 to 30th September 2024.
The Sampoornata Abhiyan’s launch events were organised across all the 112 Aspirational
Districts and 500 Aspirational Blocks across India.
Dr. Jitendra Singh Launches InFLiMeN Network to Combat Fatty Liver Disease
Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST),
launched the Indo-French Liver and Metabolic Diseases Network (InFLiMeN) at the Institute of
Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi, Delhi.
It is a collaborative effort led by Shiv Kumar Sarin, Director of ILBS, and Abhay Karandikar,
Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), MoST.
The network will involve 11 French and 17 Indian doctors, with support from the Indo-French
Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR)/Centre Franco-Indien pour la
Promotion de la Recherche Avancée (CEFIPRA).
