General guidelines for Selection of MDC

For UG Programme Ist Semester Students Oct 2024

Under 4 year Degree Programme (According to NEP 2020)

Choice Response selection will be start on

22nd Oct 2024 at 10.30 AM
• Under Graduate students of I semester of the following departments: CSIT ( B.Sc. and
BCA Both courses), Forestry, Rural Tech, Biotech, Botany, Physics, B.Sc
Electronics., Maths, Chemistry, Zoology, Forensic Sciences, Political Science,
History, Economics, Journalism and mass communication, Hindi, English, Anthropology,
Social work, B. COM all sections, and BBA will have to fill choices for selection of
Multi-Disciplinary Course (MDC).

• Students should not select the MDC elective, which they have already
studied at 10 + 2 level and the stream in which they are studying.
Course Pool
Pool 1: Natural and Physical Sciences – Students studying in department of
Anthropology, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Forestry, Physics, Rural
Technology, Forensic Science and Chemistry should not select courses offered by
these departments.
Pool 2: Humanities and Social Sciences - Students studying in department of
Economics, History, Political Sciences, Social Work should not select courses offered
by these departments.
Pool 3 : Commerce and Management: Students studying in department of Commerce
and Management (BBA) Department should not select courses offered by these
departments
Pool 4: Mathematical and Computational Sciences: Students studying in department
of Mathematics and CSIT department should not select courses offered by these
departments.
Pool 5: Students of Journalism Department may select any of the course not studied in
12th Standard.
 • Students will have to choose one MDC elective from a pool of Courses available for
this semester through Samarth portal.
• Selection of electives is on first come first serve basis.
• Every Course has a capping of 78 seats. Once the seats of any course filled, the
option will not be available other students, and they have to select choice among
available options.
• Once you have submitted your options, the selected elective will be locked
• The portal will remain active only for two days from the date and time of
notification for choice selection.
• NO CORRECTIONS are possible after completion of correction date.
• There is no provision for THE CHANGE OF MDC in Samarth portal.
