The emergency of COVID 19 Lockdowns have forced adaption of smartphones as a teaching and
learning tool .There are negative effects on e-learning using smartphones

PART A

1. FACTORS THAT INHABIT THE USE OF A SMARTPHONE AS A LEARNING TOOL

I. Smart phones can become a destruction to a student resulting to them failing their exams

II. Children end up using their phones to watch pornographic material

III. Students may take videos of teachers teaching, edit videos make memes of their teachers

IV. Children can also use their phones to send false message to their parents for their own benefits

VII. Bringing smartphones to schools will lead to rise of crimes e.g. Stealing chargers or even the

2. PREVENTION MEASURES
1. Purchasing parental guaidenced wifi

2. Regestering smartphones to the ICT department for security

3. The school must have limit time for the use of smartphones e.g. garget dismissal will be at 4
o’clock
4. Monitor the use of WI FI at school by making use of the star topology oooo

5. Allow strictly laptops for research

6. Students can communicate through teachers if they want anything


7. So to not exit lesson during an online lesson student can disable all apps that may disturb the
lesson

8. Students can lower brightness of the screen to avoid eye sight problems
9. To avoid social media addiction, students can get themselves distracted with practical
activities .e.g. painting, farming, dancing etc.
