R: hello everyone

Good morning. good afternoon and good night. for those of you who are listening and watching

podcast.... let's find out the answers and the truth

wherever you are. You all must be curious about our discussion this time

OK, before we get to the discussion. I Roganda Hutasoit will accompany you in the podcast... let's
find out the answers and the truth

but here we are not alone. I was accompanied by my friend

H : I am Muhammad Haikal. Here I will accompany you all in a podcast....let's find out the answers
and the truth.

First of all, I want to say a thousand thanks to Roganda for inviting me to today's podcast

Today I will discuss a very exciting and interesting topic. which is certainly very useful for all friends.
especially friends who are about to graduate from high school

R : woooooowwww it looks like our discussion this time is very exciting

H : Yes, our discussion this time is very exciting

R : what are we discussing today?

H : Before we get into the discussion, I want to ask you, Roganda. Do you think education is
important?

R : Yes, in my opinion, education is very important because education is an effort to develop the
human potential of students, both physical potential, creative potential, feelings and will, so that this
potential becomes real and can function in the course of their lives.
H ; ok if that's true according to you. well i think it's true too . Ok Now I ask again whether the
importance of education will bring you or make you able to get a decent job.

R
yes in my opinion. education will make us successful. we will get a very good job ... even we are
required to study up to a very high level such as colleg

H
ok. yes everything you said is true.

ok. I want to ask you again Roganda. In your personal opinion, is college very important and
mandatory?

R
Yes, in my opinion, college is very important and mandatory. So it can be concluded that college can
be a good foundation for the future, but it needs to be balanced with continuous self-development and
mature career planning. Future success is more determined by personal quality and competence than
academic degrees alone.

H
hmmm, in my opinion, college is not that important

R
huh??? why is that?

H
Until now, I think that college is still not important. Because college is not a basic foundation for
people to be successful.

I see that there are many college graduates who are unable to succeed.

"Many people force themselves to go to college, but once they're done, they don't know what they
want to be, that's one. So I think the most important thing for high school students going to college is
they have to know their vision and mission, what they want to do?"
One must have a vision and mission in determining the future and success. Because, college will be
useless if it does not match what our life choices are.

R
There is some truth in what you said, but in my personal opinion, college is still relevant.

Many people are still wondering whether college is still relevant??

This question has been coming up more and more in the modern era. With bootcamps, online courses,
and self-paced learning programs offering more practical skills certifications, many people are
beginning to question the relevance of college. But before we dismiss college as “unimportant,” we
need to understand perspectives from different social backgrounds.

The first.

Rich People's Views on College

Many wealthy people, or those who already have financial stability, often see college as unnecessary.
With access to resources and networks, they can build a career or business without needing a college
degree. Successful examples like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg further reinforce this notion, where
they managed to achieve success despite not completing formal education. However, that doesn’t
mean college isn’t important to them at all—it’s just that they have more options.

The second
Lower Class Views on College

On the other hand, for the lower economic classes, college is still considered the main path to
achieving better social and financial mobility. Higher education is considered the key to getting a
high-paying and stable job. However, problems arise when they have to spend a lot of money to go to
college, but do not get a job guarantee after graduation.

H
okay if that's what you think,
now my question
Why Are Many Bachelor's Degree Graduates Unemployed?
R
ok i will answer your question

The phenomenon of unemployment among bachelor's degree graduates is not new. There are several
reasons why this happens:

1. Education Does Not Clearly Lead to a Specific Career Many study programs at universities still
teach theory without equipping students with the practical skills needed in the workplace. As a result,
graduates are not prepared to face real challenges in the industry.

2. Not Making People Job-Ready Most graduates lack skills relevant to the jobs they apply for. They
only have academic knowledge without enough practical experience, which is often a major
requirement for companies.

3. Rapidly Growing Industry The world of work is changing very quickly, especially with the rapid
development of technology. Many jobs that were once relevant are now disappearing, replaced by
new professions that require specialized skills. Unfortunately, the curriculum on campus is often slow
to adapt to these changes.

H
thanks for your answer roganda

Yes. In the end, the decision to go to college or not comes back to your personal and career goals. The
most important thing is to know the most appropriate path to achieve your dreams, whether through
formal education or through other means that are more flexible and in line with current industry
needs.

R
that's right kal

Is there anything else you would like to say or a message or suggestion for our fellow listeners or
viewers of our podcast today?

I understand that education is important, but it doesn't always mean that college is the only path to
success. I suggest that:
1. College is Important if You're Aiming for a Certain Profession If you want to become a doctor,
engineer, or other profession that requires formal certification, college is definitely a must. However,
for some other professions such as digital marketing, UI/UX designer, or content creator, there may be
other paths that are more effective and efficient than formal education.

2. You Can Skip College If You Have Clear Goals For those with clear goals and career plans, college
isn’t the only option. If you know what field you want to pursue, and you have access to the resources
to support you, you can start your career without having to spend years in college. Training programs,
short courses, or internships may be a better alternative.

3. Know Yourself and Your Potential First Before deciding to go to college or take another path, it is
very important to understand who you are and what your potential is. Are you someone who learns
better through hands-on practice? Or do you feel more comfortable with the academic approach and
formal education structure? Knowing your strengths, interests, and learning styles can help direct a
career that suits your personality and aspirations. You can use tools such as personality tests, career
interest tests, or consult with a mentor to better understand your potential.

4. Have Clear Career Goals Having clear goals will help you a lot in determining whether college is
the right step or you can start your career right away. If you have a passion for a particular field, find
out about career paths in that field, including the skills needed and relevant certifications. With clear
goals, you can avoid confusion and adjust your education or training path according to your dreams.

R
OK, thank you very much Kal for your advice. I hope it is useful for all of us, especially friends who
