Direct and Indirect Speech

Direct speech is used when we repeat the same words that someone
said. Indirect speech, or reported speech, is used when we report,
rather than quote, what someone said.

Example: Jane said, "I met Emily today."

Jane said she had met Emily that day.

Rewrite each sentence as reported speech.

1) Sara said, "I submitted the assignment a week ago."

2) Anna told Mia, "I went to the mall yesterday."

3) Liam said, "I will jog in Central Park tomorrow."

4) "We are going out for dinner in one hour," they said.

5) "Did you like the movie we watched last week?" Sam asked his brother.
