How do our policies strengthen and weaken our relationship?

The policies which make our relations strong.

1. Economic cooperation:

Islamic economic principles promote fairness, ethical entrepreneurship, and solidarity. The Qur’an
forbids actions that cause injustice or loss. Surah al-Baqarah (2:275) emphasizes the severe
consequences for those who practice usury or usury to be among the companions of the Fire and
endure eternal punishment Policies that promote correct financial integration and conduction in Muslim
countries are in line with Islamic values According to Islamic law, this creates a strong economic
partnership between Turkey and Pakistan. So here are some details of the economic relations between
Pakistan and Turkey.

Pakistan and Turkey have strong economic ties and aim to reap $1 billion in trade. Selective trade
agreements have been signed, facilitating exchanges such as Pakistan’s export of rice and textiles and
Turkey’s export of wheat and machinery. As members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and the D8, both countries are committed to enhancing economic cooperation. This cooperation
extends to tourism, property investment, and travel, with Pakistani tourists and Pakistani travelers in
Turkey using Turkish Airlines. A shared Muslim identity contributes to mutual support in times of
economic challenge.

2. Collaboration in World peace, Defense and security

Islamic principles guide efforts in joint security and defense between Pakistan and Turkey, emphasizing
mutual security and peace. This partnership is based on the teachings of the Quran and the wisdom of
Prophet Muhammad and includes important achievements such as counter-terrorism, arms trade, joint
military exercises, and Pakistan's recent MILGEM-class ships from Turkey. It contributes to global
security in line with the state's commitment to protect the Ummah.

Moreover, with Islamic ideology that promotes justice and peaceful coexistence, Pakistan and Turkey
actively contribute to global peace. Their role extends to UN peacekeeping missions, international
mediation, counter-terrorism efforts, and humanitarian assistance. Cultural networks foster
understanding among different cultures, while solidarity in the Muslim world enhances their collective
voice on international issues. Together they exemplify a deep commitment to maintaining global peace
and stability in line with Islamic principles. When we discuss World Peace How can we forget Kashmir,
Palestine, and Israel?

 Turkey on Kashmir Issue:

Turkey has historically supported Pakistan's stance on Kashmir, advocating a plebiscite supervised by the
UN. However, recent years have seen Turkey emphasizing India-Pakistan bilateral talks for resolving the
issue, which has caused differences in perceptions The Turkish ambassador spent a week in Pakistan
administered Kashmir's capital city of Muzaffarabad to express solidarity with the Kashmir cause.
President Tayyip Erdoğan recently expressed that Turkey stands with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue,
bringing opposition from India.

 Review of both countries on Israel:

Turkey’s growing ties with Israel is another area where the approaches of Pakistan and
Turkey differ. However, over the years, these differences have not negatively affected the
friendly nature of mutual ties. Although Pakistan doesn't recognize Israel but understands Turkey's ties
with Israel. Pakistan is concerned about Israel's arms sales to India, which could affect the regional
strategic balance. Pakistan is also wary of India's presence in Afghanistan and Central Asia, feeling it's an
attempt to encircle Pakistan. Both countries support Palestine, and both countries oppose Israel in the
Palestine-Israel conflict.
3. Cultural Exchanges

Guided by Surah al-Hujurat (49:13), which highlights the richness found in diversity, cultural exchange
between countries is a powerful tool for mutual understanding Pakistan and Turkey are an example of
this principle, and their active collaboration in language systems, culinary integration, sharing Sufi
musical traditions; Novruz and other festivals are included.

This exchange is deeply rooted in Islamic values, acting as a bridge and promoting goodwill and unity.
Through festivals, arts, and traditional practices, Pakistan and Turkey build harmonious relations that
echo the Quranic principle of mutual acceptance for a more prosperous and connected world

5. Diplomatic engagement

Islam recommends diplomacy based on peace, justice, and morality, as emphasized in the Quran. This
principle guides Pakistan-Turkey relations characterized by a long-standing partnership based on
friendship and cooperation. Both countries consistently support each other in international forums and
share a commitment to peace, security, and unity in the Muslim world. Established in 1947, the
enduring ties are evident in handshakes, such as Turkey’s recognition of Pakistan’s membership in the
United Nations and the recent one by Pakistan International Airlines began flying to Istanbul on the
occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations

6. Aid exchange

Turkey and Pakistan have a history of aiding each other in times of crisis. In the aftermath of the 2005
Kashmir earthquake, Turkey provided $150 million in aid to Pakistan, and a Turkish aid organization,
Kizilay, constructed a mosque in Pakistan's Azad Kashmir region.

 2022 Pakistan floods

When Pakistan was hit by floods in 2022, with part of the country submerged, the Turkish government
provided humanitarian aid flights to Pakistan for civilians directly affected by the floods.

 2023 Earthquake in Turkey

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered support to Turkey after a devastating earthquake. He sent 100
tons of relief goods, including food, medicine, and winterized tents, and established an air bridge for
transporting additional aid. He also called for a nationwide support campaign and appealed to the
business community, religious scholars, and philanthropic organizations to contribute to the relief
efforts.

1. Changing Foreign Policy Orientation:

Islam emphasizes consistent foreign policy. Shifts in Pakistan-Turkey relations, like Turkey's evolving
stance on Kashmir, may strain ties. Effective communication and diplomatic efforts are crucial.

2. Failure to Support Regional Causes:

Islam promotes cooperative action. Failure to support regional causes may weaken ties. Both nations
need active engagement to address regional challenges and strengthen their partnership.

3. Lack of Consistent Diplomacy:

Inconsistent high-level visits and diplomatic engagement hinder robust relations. Islam encourages
frequent, transparent communication for unity and peace.

4. Difference in Ideologies:

Divergent ideologies impact Pak-Turk relations.

 Pakistan's Ideology: Rooted in Islam, emphasizing religious freedom, social justice, and economic
equity.
 Modern Turkey's Ideology: Kemalism (founded by Ataturk) focuses on secularism, nationalism, and
Westernization, seeking to transform into a modern nation-state.
