FACT: Justification means to declare righteous


___ not make someone righteous who is already righteous (Lk.729), but it means to declare and
treat as righteous (Due.251)
Problems facing God in Justifying Mankind
1) The sinful character of man (Rom. 323)
2) The non-relaxable ()B71C) character of the Law (Jam.210)

3) The Holy and just character of God Himself (IITim.213)


MANNAR: How can a Holy God justify ungodly mankind?
Not on the basis of
1) Mankind’s character(sinner)
2) Keeping the Law (for he broken it)

Two ways to satisfy the law


1) Keep it (+H3)) – no one has done
2) Pay the penalty for breaking it – it would take eternity to pay. Ps.499

How can we receive the gift of righteousness?
Faith is the vital point of contact between the sinner and God.
All may be justified, but only those who believe are justified (Rom43,Gen.156, Gal.36)
Faith is not righteousness, but rather that faith is the means through which righteousness is
reckoned
--- not by the works of the Law but by Faith (Gal.26,Eph28,9, Rom.328)
--- Faith is simply believing what God says and accepting what He offers.
