The journey of Grade X has been both challenging and rewarding, as students navigate a pivotal year in
their academic life. This term has been marked by a strong focus on holistic learning, fostering intellectual
curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Through a well-rounded curriculum, various classroom activities,
and co-curricular engagements, students have been encouraged to broaden their perspectives and apply
their knowledge in meaningful ways. The Grade X newsletter offers a glimpse into this journey, highlighting
key academic milestones, subject-specific accomplishments, and the enriching experiences that have
shaped their growth.
Linguistic Skills
English:
Grade X students delved into a rich English
curriculum, encompassing chapters like Glimpses of
India, Footprints without Feet, and The Making of a
Scientist. Engaging activities—role-plays, debates,
creative writing, and research presentations—
enhanced analytical, communication, and oratory
skills. Poetic appreciation and personal expression
were encouraged through for Anne Gregory and Fog.

German
October's German class focused on Lektion 9. Students learned Relativsatz, Relativpronomen (wo, was),
and Konjunktion (als, nachdem) through discussions, inquiry-based learning, and collaboration. Real-life
applications included narrating about native places and expressing opinions, with workbook exercises and
revision tests preparing students for Preboard I.
French
October's French class covered Leçon 10: "Vive la République." Students mastered direct/indirect
discourse, cultural context, and vocabulary through discussions, collaboration, and pronunciation practice.

Computational Skills
Mathematics:
10th graders explored Mathematics Chapters 11-12, covering circles, area, surface area, and volume.
Interactive introductions, real-life examples, and hands-on activities facilitated concept mastery.
Collaborative discoveries, project-based learning (e.g., designing a circular park), and practical applications
(e.g., pizza slice area) solidified understanding. Quizzes, projects, and reflective discussions ensured
comprehensive grasp
Information Technology
Grade X IT students acquired crucial knowledge on maintaining a healthy, safe, and secure working
environment in October. They comprehended essential health and safety protocols, identified potential
hazards in typical work environments, and engaged in discussions on quality measures enhancing
productivity and employee well-being. Through interactive sessions, students practiced emergency
response techniques and understood the importance of preparedness. By the end of the instruction, they
demonstrated a proactive mindset towards upholding safety and health standards, equipping themselves
with valuable skills for future careers in the IT field.
Science
Students delved into biology and chemistry through engaging activities. Heredity was explored via family
trees and Punnett squares, illustrating genetic principles. Environmental discussions fostered thoughtful
dialogues on ecosystems and sustainability. In chemistry, covalent bonding and carbon compounds were
introduced through interactive methods, such as electron dot structures, group activities, and molecule
modeling. Students grasped concepts like catenation, homologous series, and IUPAC naming. Additionally,
hands-on experiments explored the magnetic effect of current, demonstrating electromagnetism and
magnetic field principles.
Social Science
In October, students delved into various social sciences and geography chapters, expanding their
knowledge and critical thinking skills. In History, they explored the Print Revolution's profound impact on
modern society, analyzing its role in democratizing knowledge and shaping cultural, political, and social
changes.
In Political Science, students critically evaluated the effectiveness and efficiency of political parties,
assessing their contributions to democracy, policy-making, and governance. They suggested reforms to
address challenges like corruption, lack of internal democracy, and the influence of money in politics.
The Economics chapter on Globalisation helped students understand the integration of countries into a
borderless economy, driven by factors like multinational corporations and outsourcing.
In Geography, the chapter on Mineral and Energy Resources highlighted their importance in supporting
economic development and human life. Students learned about mineral classification, distribution, mining,
and utilization, as well as conventional and non-conventional energy resources.
Engaging activities like debates, discussions, mind maps, and MINECRAFT enhanced students'
understanding, encouraging critical thinking and advocacy for responsible resource consumption and
renewable energy.
Health & Physical Fitness
Sports:
In October, students learned Basketball, Football, Badminton and fitness. They mastered
dribbling, handling the ball, forehand. Our pedagogy focused on Preparation, presentation,
association, imparting knowledge, technique, and joy of movement, nurturing well-
rounded. Also, we aimed at overall fitness, healthy and fit body, prevent diseases, develop
life skills, time management and discipline.
CELEBRATING SPECIAL WEEKS/ AWARDS AND ACCOLADES
The October month at DPS Dwarka Expressway was a symphony of vibrant events, each carefully designed
to nurture holistic development in our students. As part of our World Mental Health Day celebrations,
students from Grades VI-XII enjoyed a delightful movie outing on October 4, viewing *Inside Out 2* at
Worldmark—a film chosen for its engaging insights into emotional and mental wellness. In the realm of
competitive achievement, we proudly commend Rajveer Singh for his recognition as the Best Delegate at
CRPF Public School's Inter-School Model United Nations, where his leadership and diplomacy shone.
Dussehra was celebrated with reverence, signifying the victory of virtue, followed by an Earthquake Drill
emphasizing safety and vigilance. October also featured the Half-Yearly PTM, fostering open
communication with parents. In sports, we hosted the prestigious Inter DPS Boys Basketball Tournament,
and our students won accolades at the GD Goenka Conclave, with first prizes in theatre and Shark Tank.
Our Diwali celebrations, themed assemblies, and break marked a joyous closure to an eventful month of
growth and learning.
In an effort to ensure preparedness for natural disasters, we conducted a comprehensive Earthquake Drill
for all students, staff, and faculty. This initiative aims to equip everyone with essential safety protocols to
follow in the event of an earthquake.
CLUB HIGHLIGHTS
October was a month of exciting activities for students in Grades IX and X, with opportunities to explore
creativity, teamwork, and new skills. In Theatre Club, students mastered emotional expression through
mime and storytelling, building confidence in public speaking and enhancing collaboration. The Dance Club
allowed them to experience both Western and classical choreography, blending technique with the joy of
movement and fostering an appreciation for diverse dance forms.
Students also engaged in the Astronomy Club’s Astro-Evening, where they observed the moon and Saturn’s
unique features, igniting curiosity about the universe.
The month also saw coding enthusiasts dive into Python programming, exploring data visualization and
machine learning in the Coding and Data Science Club, while sports sessions focused on fitness, discipline,
and teamwork across basketball, football, and badminton. Each activity contributed to a well-rounded,
enriching experience for all.
