Transport the Ducts construction materials to workplaces.
Proper handling as per manufacturer recommendation.
Ensure all equipment, machinery etc. is removed and work area is left clear.
Remove any debris and dispose of responsibly.
Survey marking.
Surveyor will mark the levels and coordinates as per IFC. Surveying activities will be involved in
each step of ducts work Construction which will be the setting out and installing the required data
for construction and recheck on the executed work to confirm the correctness of execution like
setting out and after placement inspections.
HDPE ducts placement.
• Installation of ducts to the specified level (800-100mm below ground level from the top of
horizontally placed ducts). Coordinate following the approved drawings. Follow the survey
marking to confirm the route of the ducts and location against the approved plans and
drawings.
• Lay the telecom HDPE duct in the bottom of the trench ensuring that the ducts are aligned
using pipe spacers as a multichannel system. It should be kept as straight as possible
and in parallel to the centre line of the road. If it needs to deviate, a proper bending radius
shall be provided as per the specification (SECTION 26 05 73) of duct bending without
use of artificial heat.
• When handling ducting, avoid twisting the duct and ensure that minimum bend radius is
observed for the telecom duct.
• Only use do the inspection of tools by competent HSE person assigned by HSE
team/management prior start cutting the ducts and ensure that ends are clean, and burrs
are removed.

device to make an assembly of duct stable. As shown in sketch below:
End Caps
• All open ends must be protected with an end cap with lubricant to prevent dirt or moisture
ingress.
• Ensure that there is sufficient ducting to cover the intended route.
Warning tape
(As per specifications Div. 26 0553)
• Conductors to Be Extended in the Future: Attach marker tape to conductors and list
source.
• Underground-Line Warning Tape: During backfilling of trenches install continuous
underground-line warning tape directly above line at 150 to 200 mm below finished grade.
Use multiple tapes where width of multiple lines installed in a common trench or concrete
envelope exceeds 400 mm overall.
