I am a [Link] student in the chemical department at VIT Vellore. Currently in my second year, I have
discovered my inclination towards research by working on the viability of a sustainable approach to
recycling solar panels. Energy is obtained from fossil fuels in the extraction of silicon which is one of
the first steps in the production of solar panels. My idea was to instill carbon neutrality in the most
energy efficient green alternative to fossil fuels today. My research hypothesized a biodegradable
nanocomposite in replacement to the synthetic EVA polymer used as a laminant in the solar panel.
Removal of this material poses a great deal of difficulties in the recycling of the panel undamaged.
I have been given an opportunity to experimentally verify my thesis under a professor at our
institute. I was also honored to present my idea in the form of a poster to some esteemed professors
at the Student Regional Conference (SRC) held at NIT Rourkela.
I have some basic knowledge in Avogadro Software where I have tried simulating a few molecules in
the recent [Link] i have started learning softwares like Matlab and Simulink to get more
insight into a modelling perspective.
