Thank you for taking part in this study. This study focuses on, The Impact of
Social Media on Protest Behaviour in Young Adults: A Focus on the Israel-
Palestine Conflict. I am aware that this can be a sensitive topic to talk about and
discuss for some people and I have included options to skip questions or leave
the study if you feel necessary. The hypotheses for this study are,
H1: Higher social media usage when engaging with political or activism-related
content about the Israel-Palestine conflict, will be positively correlated with
young adults' likelihood of participating in legal and peaceful protest actions.
H2: Higher social media use, especially engagement with content expressing
solidarity or activism, will be positively associated with young adults’ support for
disadvantaged groups involved in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
H3a: Anger will mediate the relationship between social media use and young
adults' likelihood of participating in legal and peaceful protest actions related to
the Israel-Palestine conflict.
H3b: Empathy will mediate the relationship between social media use and young
adults' support for disadvantaged groups involved in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
