MATERIALS AND FITTINGS NEEDED
Cowhide 4-5 oz leather (chrome tanned is preferred) : approx. 8.5 ft² (65x120 cm)
Linen or other waxed thread : approx. 230 ft (70 m)
Thin Fabric for the lining : approx.10 ft² (1 m²)
5mm Zipper : 5 ft (150 cm) , Zipper puller : 7
Size 3cm rectangular ring : 4
Snap fastener : 4
Rivet : 8 (for the handles)

How to cut the parts from leather :
Notice that I had to separate some parts into smaller pieces to fit in A4 and letter paper. All
separation lines are marked with a CAPITAL letter. Stick separated parts to each other with
tape by putting them beside each other without any overlap. complete the parts as you can
see on the next page. I put all the needed parts in the PDF file, so cut all parts from leather.

How to make the bag :

l There are two zipper pockets on the back side(#1) and two other ones on the front
side(#2). They can be decorative or you can make a lining pocket for them. Here I explain
how to make the pockets. First, glue the zippers behind each slot. Then, cut an (18 x 28
cm) rectangle from the lining fabric and fold it and glue the 18 cm edges to the left and
right sides of each zipper and stitch them. After that, stitch the top and bottom edges of
the lining pocket. Do the same for the other three zippers too.
l Next, glue and stitch the zipper of #4 and #11.
l Pass #13 through a rectangular ring and fold it and stitch it on #12. Then stitch #12 on #1.
Do the same for the other three parts of #12 and #13 and stitch them on #1 and #2.
l After that, you should make the front pocket using #6 and #11. To do that, stitch #6 to #2
using (s) holes but you should turn the #6 upside down and put pieces face-to-face.
After stitching the (s), stitch #11 to #2 along ( r ) starting from the top center. As you
continue stitching the ( r ) to the ( r ) edge of #6, #6 comes up in front of #2. Do the same
steps for the backside pocket.
l Next, you should attach the socket side of two snap fasteners on #2 and the stud side of
them on #10. After that, stitch the #10 on #1 using(z) holes and then stitch all around the
#10 on its own.
l Next, stitch #1 and #2 to #3 along (k) and (m) using the Lapped Seam method. it means
that you should overlap the edge of #3 on the edges of #1 and #2.
l Now, cover all stitches and metal fittings of #1,#2, and #3 by gluing a layer of lining
behind them all.
l To make the left and right side pockets using #7,#8,#9, and #14, do the next steps. Attach
the stud side of the snap fastener on #14 and attach the socket side on #8. Then glue #14
back to the back of #9 which is the flap of the pocket. stitch all around #9 except (u). Then
stitch #9 on #5 along (u). After that, stitch #8 to #7 along (b) and stitch #7 to #5 along ( c ).
l Now, stitch #5 to #4 by (t) edge. The #5 should overlap the #4. Do All the steps to make
the other side pocket and stitch the other #5 to the other side of #4.
l Finally, stitch #4 and #5 to #1,#2, and #3 along (w) and (a). In this seam, the body should
overlap the gusset. Attach the handles to the rectangular rings to finish the bag.
