About Harishchandragad
Harishchandragad is a hill fort located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra,
India. It is a popular trekking destination known for its scenic beauty, historical
significance, and challenging trails.
The fort is situated in the Western Ghats at an elevation of around 1,424 meters
(4,672 feet) above sea level. It is part of the Malshej Ghat region and offers
breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges.
Harishchandragad is famous for the Konkan Kada, a massive cliff face that offers a
mesmerizing view of the Konkan region. It is a favorite spot for trekkers and
nature enthusiasts. The Kedareshwar Cave, which houses a Shiva Linga, is another
attraction on the fort.
Trekking to Harishchandragad involves a moderate to difficult level of difficulty,
depending on the route chosen. The most popular trail starts from the village of
Pachnai and takes around 2-3 hours to reach the top. It is the easiest route to reach
top.
During the monsoon season (June to September), the fort transforms into a lush
green paradise with numerous waterfalls and streams. The weather can be
unpredictable, and it is advisable to check the forecast before planning a trek. It is
recommended to carry proper trekking gear, sufficient water, and food supplies.
Harishchandragad also has several historical attractions, including ancient temples,
caves, and remnants of fortifications. The Harishchandreshwar Temple, dedicated
to Lord Shiva, is a significant religious site for pilgrims.
Overall, a trek to Harishchandragad offers a unique blend of natural beauty,
adventure, and historical significance, making it a popular destination for trekking
enthusiasts in Maharashtra.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from Pune in Private Vehicle as per the group size.
 Pickup point – Meet at Ch. Shivajinagar Near COEP College at 9:00 PM.
 Multiple on route pickup point available.
 Route will be Ch. Shivajinagar – Aundh – Jagtap Dairy – Kokane Chowk –
Nashik Phata – Bhosari – Pachnai Village.
Day 1: Depart from Mumbai to Kasara via Local.
 Catch 08:44 PM Fast Local from CSMT to Kasara & reach Kasara.
 8:44PM CSMT – 8:51PM Byculla – 8:58PM Dadar – 09:07PM Kurla –
09:11PM Ghatkopar – 09:22PM Mulund – 09:26PM Thane – 09:42PM
Dombivali – 09:52PM Kalyan – 09:57PM Shahad – 10:00PM Ambivli –
10:06PM Titwala – 10:13PM Khadavli – 10:20PM Vasind – 10:26PM
Asangao – 10:35PM Atgaon – 10:39PM Thansit – 10:45PM Khardi –
11:00PM Kasara
 Our trek leader will meet you near station.
 11:45PM - Leave for Base Village
Day 2: - Reach Base Village & Start Trek.
 03:00AM – Reach Base Village.
 Freshen up and Start Trek.
 03:30AM – Start Trek.
 07:00AM – Reach on top and Explore. Visit Harishchandreshwar Temple,
Kedareshwar Temple, Pushkarni & Caves. 
 08:30AM – Start Trek to Kokankada.
 09:00AM – Reach Kokankada and have a Breakfast.
 10:00AM – Start Descending.
 12:30PM – Reach Base Village and have Lunch
 02:30PM – Leave for Pune & Reach by 9 PM with full of Memories.
 02:30PM – Leave for Kasara by Jeep and then by local to Mumbai.
 05:00PM – Reach Kasara & take available local to Mumbai. (Arrival Time
Depends on Pace of Group and Traffic)
