Đề 1: What are the advantages and disadvantages of the internet?
In recent years the internet is becoming increa singly popular. People hold
different opinions about it. In my opinion, everything in this universe has positive
and negative sides, depending on each person’s perspective. To clarify the pros and
cons of the internet, in the following essay. I will give my own perspective to
analyze in detail its bad and good points.
On the one hand, we cannot deny that the internet brings people many
benefits. First and foremost, the internet is not only time-saving but also money-
saving. In fact, instead of spending hours going to specific places, nowadays
people can study/buy anything/find information/contact others anywhere, even in
seconds, right at home via the internet/computer. Besides, when today’s modern
life has a lot of pressure, the internet is a great way to help us relieve stress after
tiring hours of work/study because it can make us feel relaxed and happy.
Additionally, the internet is wonderful treasures from which it gives us many
choices in work, many opportunities to develop ourselves, improve our skills, and
expand knowledge as well as impove quality of life. Lastly, the internet will
provide us with useful and necessary knowledge, thereby helping us have an
overview and synthesis of every problem and solve it easily. It can be seen that is
actually very beneficial in many ways.
On the other hand, we must also admit that the internet also has various
negative aspects. In the first place, the internet is the main culprit that makes
students distracted from studying because they spend too much time on it.
Furthermore, according to recent scientific research, people spending too much
time on the internet can be harmful to people’s health because artificial light
emitted from electonic devices can cause nearsightedness, insomnia, and even
cancer. Last but not least, the internet will negatively affect people’s soft skills
because it limits their ability to communicate face-to-face. It can be proved that it
also has quite a few limitations.
In conclusion, all of the things I mentioned above are just my own opinions
on this matter. I think that each person will have a different assessment of the
problem and it will affect each person differently, depending on the particular case.
But, in my own opinion, I firmly believe that the advantages of the internet far
outweigh the disadvantages. People should have further consideration on this issue.
