To
Canadian Consulate General
Respected Visa Officer,
I, Akashdeep Singh, holding an Indian Passport No.V5813879, feel privileged to have this opportunity to
communicate my thoughts, motives and purpose of travelling to Canada on a student visa. I am writing
this letter in support of my new study permit application of Canada. My previous visa application was
turned down by the High Commission stating:
“The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have
provided in your application.”
As there is a popular saying that if things are not working right this is certainly not the end and the best
is yet to come. Following this statement and making it the motto of my life I would be elaborating on my
career objectives and reason for re-application in the following paragraphs.
Standing at the crucial juncture of my career, I have two paths open in front of me; one is to launch my
professional career at the general job positions available in my home country while the other is to
advance myself academically if I intend to grow professionally and realize my distant dream of
launching my dream project ‘BAAZIGAR,’ details of which have been cited below.
Thus, choosing to second option, I am determined to add an education of global repute to my profile
because of its quality, competitive and comprehensive course curriculum, which imparts both foundation
and advance learning in the chosen subject area with more emphasis on the work-readiness than
cramming. At the same time, Canada ranks 4th in the best country for education in the world and has
consistently featured among the top 5 countries since 2016.

Inspiration to build career in IT industry
Since childhood I have been keen on doing computer based games and when I started to learn more
each day through Google, I have always wondered how people managed to create such vast worlds
inside a TV/computer screen; how they were able to make something out of nothing; how they were
able to tell a computer what to do. I, too, wanted to create something that would have a lasting
impact on people.
In this digital era, I observed there are innovations that keep evolving not only technically but also
hold infinite scope for creativity and logic, at some point of time people were not even sure that a
mobile phone could be developed. I feel a similar sense of exhilaration when I see digital platforms
and the idea of coding behind this.
The stage is set for me as combined with my passion for learning computer languages; I decide to
begin my programming journey. However at this juncture of my life, learning is the key and a course
from an International institute of repute would do a world of good to my professional career.
Subsequently, I have applied for Computer Programming-Diploma (Co-op) at esteemed Georgian
College, Canada for September 2023 intake. (Letter of Acceptance attached herewith for your
reference)
My long term ambition is to come back to my home country gain foothold by working in a few
eminent MNC’s. However; eventually being truly inspired by Shark Tank India, I would like to establish
my Own Venture of Gaming in the coming 5 years by the name of “BAAZIGAR” which in my
vernacular language Hindi means a person who is living in an illusionary parallel world where he
wins whenever and whatever he plays.
The latest Sequoia India and BCG report says that India's gaming industry is generating USD 1.5 billion
in revenue and is expected to triple to over USD 5 billion by 2025, on the back of the 'mobile first'
phenomenon.

Reasons of Re-application
After completing my Diploma, I initially planned of starting my professional career in India and for the
same I started job hunt. I have gotten a couple of opportunities to work with local companies
however, the salary packages that I was being offered were not satisfactory.
Thus, in order to boost my profile to avail myself of better and competitive career opportunities, I
decided to advance myself academically with the help of global education.
For the same, I applied for Canada’s study permit twice in 2022 by opting for a program of IT domain
but got refused.
Despite possessing a competitive academic record as well as fulfilling requirements of study permit
application the refusal has come as a shock to me. However, it did not deter my will to mull over
the course as well as DLI choice.
Thus, I am re-applying with greater determination, introspecting on my future plans and opting for a
better and competitive program that would help me to fulfill my tinsel dream of availing myself of
competitive career opportunities in IT sector.
Having been beguiled by the positive changes and comfort which computer science and technology
has brought into human life, I have decided to study Computer Programming program; because it will
aid me realize my long-term goal of launching project BAAZIGAR, which is a fundamental skill for a
myriad of applications, software development and artificial intelligence.
Motivation to study Computer Programming Diploma (Co-op)
Computer Programming is a two year program that will help me to learn process easier, faster, and
more intuitive.
My research for choosing this program is not limited to my area of interest only. I also, found that
this unique program is in high-demand as almost every business has shifted to the Cloud (online).
This program has emerged as a top choice for technical education due to ever evolving innovative and
research opportunities. The opportunities in programming and software industry are endless and shall
continue to grow consistently in the coming years.
In India, 80% of placements across engineering colleges are done in either computer science or
software companies. Thus, Programming is such a field where nothing gets old. Everyday a new thing
or a technology is invented.
Studying this course at Georgian College, will make me gain knowledge and expertise to identify,
analyze, develop, implement, verify and document the requirements for a computing environment.
It will also allow me to contribute to the diagnostics, troubleshooting, documenting and monitoring of
technical problems using appropriate methodologies and tools.
Apart from the above mentioned learning outcomes, the course will make me able to develop,
document, implement, maintain and test software systems by using industry standard software
development methodologies based on defined specifications and existing technologies/frameworks.
Notably, the course completion at Georgian College comes with the mandatory option of taking up
Field Placement to gain the experience and exposure of workplace for efficient work life ahead.
Career Prospects & Future Plans
I am a goal and career oriented student who believes in hard work and dedication. My sole aim to visit
Canada is to attain Diploma in Computer Programming from the Georgian College. After the completion of
my respective course, I would come back to my home country and will launch my career by initially
working with multinational companies.
In India, cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune; are known as Silicon Valley of India as it boats major
software industry hubs and offer plenty of job opportunities to software developers, programmers across
various levels. Here I can work in the companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Industries, Encore, HCL
Technologies, Toubro Infotech, HP, Genpact, NetApp, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Dell, Google,
Amazon, Shell, Intel, Siemens Technology, etc., for the positions including Computer Programmer,
Software Application Tester, Computer Systems Engineer, Software Quality Assurance Engineer,
Software Developer, Software Test Engineer, Desktop Programmer, etc. At the initial level of my
professional career, I will withdraw the handsome salary package of INR 6 to 8 lakhs that will eventually
grow with years of experience and skill proficiency.
As cited above, after acquiring requisite experience and skill proficiency, I would like to take up the role of
an entrepreneur and establish my own name” BAAZIGAR” in the Gaming Industry as this has tremendous
potential.
Reasons to study in Canada than in India
I have made the decision to further my education in Canada because I want to gain the competitive and
qualitative education that will boost my profile. Furthermore, my education has been completed through
the Indian education system, which emphasizes more on theoretical learning.
I genuinely think that an education that combines theoretical and practical knowledge will strengthen my
profile, improve my skills, and prepare me to face real-life challenges. There is a growing trend in India of
competent and challenging opportunities available to home country professionals who have obtained
global education. Canada was high on my priority list because a degree from a globally renowned
institution would be highly valued in my home country.
Reasons to study at Georgian College
For academic as well as professional progression, I have paid more attention towards the course selection
after being refused. Thus, I feel privileged that I have been given an opportunity to pursue a professional
program at the eminent institute of Canada i.e. Georgian College. Since established in 1967, the college is
imparting excellent education in accordance with the current market-trend. It is the first and only college
in Canada to be designated as a Changemaker College by Ashoka U for its role as a leader in social
innovation and change-making in higher education.
The college is very encouraging towards students thus, provides academic upgrading along with career
preparation; apprenticeship and skills training. As an international student this will be beneficial for me to
get a warm environment for myself. I have done research about the college and I found that the
curriculum of this college is very creative and interactive. By living and studying in such a multicultural
environment, my overall personality will be developed and will change me into a better human being.
Conclusion
I am re-applying because my intentions are genuine and as it is a matter of my whole life this one
decision will have a huge impact on my life and will open ample career opportunities for me.
Last but not the least, I would like to specify that I have strong family ties in India and I cannot stay distant
from my family for a long time. Moreover, being the youngest child to my parents, I am deeply connected
with them and wish to spend as much time as I can with them to further support my parents in their
ageing years.
Thus post-completion of my study, I will certainly return to my home country to realize my dream of
working with top-notch IT multi-national companies initially and then launching my own venture
‘BAAZIGAR’ five years down the line.
Hereby, I conclude my submission with a positive mindset in which I have expressed my dear intent to
study in Canada at the prestigious Georgian College.
All the details furnished by me and all the documents attached with my applications are true and correct.
Thank you very much for your valuable time.
Sincere Regards
Akashdeep Singh
