CHAPTER FOUR

ANALYSIS OF DATA

4.1. NORMALITY TEST FOR THE THICKNESS OF STONE COATED ROOFING

SHEET IN MILLIMETRE

4.1.1 Q - Q Plot of Mean

Plot 1: Q – Q Plot of the mean

Mean: 0.
StDev: 0
N: 120
P-value: 0.00017

Hypothesis:

H0: Measurement of thickness for stone coated roofing sheet for the period of Six weeks is

normally distributed.

H1: Measurement of thickness for stone coated roofing sheet for the period of Six weeks is not

normally distributed.

Level of significance α = 0.05

Decision Rule: Reject H0 if the observed value of α is greater than the P-Value, which depends on

the desired level of significance, accept otherwise.

Conclusion: Since α = 0.05 > 0.00017 we then accept H 1 and conclude that the data are not

normally distributed.

4.1.2 Histogram Plot of Mean

Plot 2: Histogram plot of mean

Mean: 0.423
StDev: 0
N: 120

From the histogram plot of mean in plot 2, the shape which shows the data is not normally

distributed.
4.2 X-BAR CHART OF THE THICKNESS OF STONE COATED ROOFING SHEET

FOR THE MONTH OF MAY – JUNE 2024

X́ = Mean of means

4.2.1 Plot X-bar Chart on the Thickness of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

4.2.2 Comment on the X-Bar Chart on the Thickness of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

measured in millimetres

4.3. R-CHART OF THE THICKNESS OF STONE COATED ROOFING SHEET FOR

THE MONTH OF MAY – JUNE 2024

4.3.1 Plot R-Chart on the Thickness of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

4.3.2. Comment on the R-Chart on the Thickness of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet measured

in millimetres
4.4. NORMALITY TEST FOR THE LENGTHS OF STONE COATED ROOFING

SHEET IN MILLIMETRE

4.4.1 Q - Q Plot of Mean

Plot 5: Q – Q Plot of the mean

Mean: 1411.7
StDev: 0
N: 120
P-value: 0.00016

Hypothesis:

H0: Measurement of length for stone coated roofing sheet for the period of Six weeks is normally

distributed.

H1: Measurement of length for stone coated roofing sheet for the period of Six weeks is not

normally distributed.

Level of significance α = 0.05

Decision Rule: Reject H0 if the observed value of α is greater than the P-Value, which depends on

the desired level of significance, accept otherwise.

Conclusion: Since α = 0.05 > 0.00016 we then accept H 1 and conclude that the data are not

normally distributed.

4.4.2 Histogram Plot of Mean

Plot 6: Histogram plot of mean

Mean: 1411.7
StDev: 0
N: 120

From the diagram of the histogram plot of mean in plot 6, it proves that this data is not normally

distributed.
4.5. X-BAR CHART OF THE LENGTHS OF STONE COATED ROOFING SHEET

FOR THE MONTH OF MAY – JUNE 2024

X́ = Mean of means

4.5.1 Plot X-bar Chart on the Lengths of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

4.5.2 Comment on the X-Bar Chart on the Lengths of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

measured in millimetres

4.6 R-CHART OF THE LENGTHS OF STONE COATED ROOFING SHEET FOR

THE MONTH OF MAY – JUNE 2024

4.6.1 Plot R-Chart on the Lengths of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

4.6.2. Comment on the R-Chart on the Lengths of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet measured in

millimetres
4.7. NORMALITY TEST FOR THE WIDTH OF STONE COATED ROOFING SHEET

IN MILLIMETRE

4.7.1 Q – Q Plot of Mean

Plot 9: Q – Q plot of mean

Mean: 1411.7
StDev: 0
N: 120
P-value: 0.00007

Hypothesis:

H0: Measurement of width for stone coated roofing sheet for the period of Six weeks is normally

distributed.

H1: Measurement of width for stone coated roofing sheet for the period of Six weeks is not

normally distributed.

Level of significance α = 0.05

Decision Rule: Reject H0 if the observed value of α is greater than the P-Value, which depends on

the desired level of significance, accept otherwise.

Conclusion: Since α = 0.05 > 0.00007 we then accept H 1 and conclude that the data are not

normally distributed.

4.7.2 Histogram Plot of Mean

Plot 10: Histogram plot of mean

Mean: 1411.7
StDev: 0
N: 120

The diagram of the histogram plot of mean in plot 10 shows that the data is not normally

distributed.

THE MONTH OF MAY – JUNE 2024

4.9.1 Plot R-Chart on the Thickness of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet

4.9.2 Comment on the R-Chart on the Thickness of Stone Coated Roofing Sheet measured

in millimetres
